DrugDev, a global network of clinical trial physicians, has acquired TrialNetworks to boost its business by adding more clinical trials system capabilities.
IMS Health has acquired Forcea, a European provider of business intelligence and analytics, to boost its performance improvement capabilities for customers.
In the slightly head-scratching acquisition department, Quintiles, a large contract research and drug and device services firm, is acquiring Encore Health Resources, which consults mostly with providers in regard to EHR implementation and other IT needs. Quintiles says it will improve access to real-world data about drug use.
Accolade, a provider of software to help consumers navigate the health system (aaaahhhhhh!) has acquired konciergeMD, which does something similar. (What the company didn't have enough "capital"? Apparently not, at least on the front end.)
Huron Consulting, which has a very large health care IT consulting segment, has acquired Vonlay consulting, which assists providers in implementing EHRs.
Press Ganey, which helps providers improve patient satisfaction and quality, is acquiring Dynamic Clinical Solutions, which helps patients collect medical information and provide it to physicians.
Megas, which makes health information software, and Unicor, which sells coding books and software, are merging to form Alpha II.
