Kurbo Health has raised $5.8 million for its mobile products to help children eat healthy and deal with weight issues. Just what children need, another app to sit and look at instead of really being "mobile" and getting some exercise.

LifeNexus, which offers a method for patients to maintain and access health records, has received a multi-million dollar investment from Camden Partners.
Second quarter venture funding activity was high, according to the NVCA MoneyTree results, with $13 billion invested in 1,114 deals. Biotech firms received $1.8 billion of that in 122 deals and med device companies got $649 million in 73 transactions.
