A preliminary release from Aon gives an expected medical and pharmacy trend for employers of 5.4% in 2015 and 5.9% in 2016, driven higher by pharmacy costs that are estimated to increase 9.5% in 2015 and 10% in 2016.

The HHS Office of Inspector General scolded CMS for failing to follow a prior recommendation on how to pay for infusion drugs, costing the program over $200 million.

An analysis conducted for AHIP by The Menges Group finds that states that keep their Medicaid medical and drug benefits in the same plan as opposed to separating them have lower total drug spending.  The savings were about 14.6% per prescription or over $2 billion.
