Sentry Health garners $9.5 million in fresh capital for a facelift, as it rebrands with a new name and expands its onsite clinic and telehealth services for employees.
AdvancedMD, which offers practice management software to independent physician offices, is acquiring NueMD, which appears to do the same thing. New name to be MDMD or Advanced & Nue.
In a convoluted transaction, EHR and other health care software vendor Cerner is investing $266 million in Essence Holdings, which owns population health vendor Lumeris and operates primary care clinics. The companies will also work toward creation of a software product aimed at Medicare Advantage plans.
