Where to Find the Truth About Minnesota Under Little Timmy

By August 13, 2024Commentary4 min read

I look at a lot of data from different sources, and if you check websites in addition to national data, you can find it broken down by states.  The truth is out there, you just have a dig a little bit, and as I have said, you won’t get it from the IB.  The only positive economic statistic  is what appears to be a low unemployment rate.  Now actual job growth is low, one of the lowest rates in the country, so you might wonder how the unemployment rate stays low.  Simple, we have no population growth, in fact people of working age are leaving the state, so there are less people to fill the available jobs.  More importantly, we have very strong incentives for people to not even try to work.  For a relatively young state, thanks to lots of immigrants, you should have lots of potential workers, but why work when you can simply defraud the state of hundreds of millions of dollars and make a good living that isn’t taxed or you can collect the enormous welfare payouts that Little Timmy has created.  We have incredibly low work incentives.  So don’t think that low unemployment rate says something good about our economy.

As I said, jobs growth is very low, and what there is, is all in government or heavily government-supported work, like health care or social services.  Our GDP growth is near the very bottom of the country.  We have low numbers of businesses starting up.  Wealthy people who start and invest in new and growing businesses are leaving the state.  Our business taxes are the highest in the country and our regulatory burden is incredible.  The educational system has collapsed, so we no longer have a cadre of well-educated and trained people coming into the economy every year.  Minnesota’s economy is declining rapidly by every meaningful metric.  You can get information on the true facts by going to the Census Bureau,  www.census.gov,  looking at IRS data on migration, www.irs.gov, looking at economic statistics, www.bea.gov or labor ones, www.bls.gov.  The Cato Institute, the Center for the American Experiment and other websites also compile and write about this data.  Here is a Cato report on migration among states, for example.  (Cato Report)

The other horrifying item of note during the IB’s reign has been the complete destruction of real education in the state.  Between the extended closing of in-person schooling and totalitarian indoctrination of teachers and students, despite a massive increase in spending, educational attainment has declined sharply.  About half of all students in the state can’t read, do math or do science at grade level, and the situation is far worse in the Twin Cities.  And this despite the IB’s lowering of standards.  He doesn’t give a crap about students, all he cares about is getting lots of money to the teachers’ union and having it recycled as campaign contributions.  If he did care about students, he wouldn’t be so hell-bent on ruining their lives.  When I came to Minnesota, we had about the best education system in the country.  The most shocking statistic now is that Alabama and Florida have higher high school graduation rates.  See more here.  (Alpha News Story)

There are many other ways in which Walz and the Dems have lowered the quality of life in Minnesota–crime, infrastructure, etc.  You can acquaint yourself with what is really happening by reading the sources listed above.
