The ill-begotten spawn of the climate hysterics’ human fossil fuel CO2-caused global warming scam is renewable energy, primarily from wind and solar. These are expensive, unreliable, environmentally damaging forms of electricity generation. Countries that have turned to them are suffering economically, with Germany being exhibit A, and risk blackouts. China, Russia and our other adversaries would love to see the same thing happen to the US and work surreptiously to accomplish that. Climate hysterics lie constantly, and one of the lies is about how much power a solar or wind plant can actually generate. One of the large grid operators is tired of the excessive capacity claims for these facilities, which can cause issues in terms of planning for enough power to keep the electricity flowing.
MISO, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, has revamped its system for evaluating capacity and reliability and massively downgraded the capabilities of solar and wind plants in its region. This exposes the true cost of those sources and the backup systems they require and shows how fragile the system becomes when it is dependent on solar and wind generation. You can’t make the sun shine more or the wind blow anytime. We are all paying more for electricity as gas and coal plants are retired and we are at greater risk of blackouts. (MISO Blog)
In Minnesota, which is part of the MISO grid, thousands of acres of productive farmland are being turned into solar farms, that given our northern latitude won’t generate any power for 16 hours a day for several months of the year. One good wind or hail storm will wreck that solar plant and leave an environmental disaster. Our electricity rates are soaring, adding to an already bad economic environment. The stupidity is unreal, but don’t worry, the rich people behind this are making lots of money from phony renewable energy.
