I mentioned this in a more general post regarding the awful non-journalism practiced by the Strib. The paper just accepted with no question the ludicrous suggestion that enforcing the immigration laws in Minnesota cost 32,000 jobs. The best rebuttal, based on obvious and easily discoverable facts that the Strib could have found, is at the Center for the American Experiment. John Phelan goes through the source of this absolute garbage number. He demonstrates that in reality (which is not where the STrib editors live) Minnesota added jobs during the time period in question. The Strib is claiming that the number of jobs added would have been twice that without the immigration enforcement. That is a joke, given Minnesota’s declining economy. And it is a total addition of jobs that has basically never occurred in Minnesota, certainly not during the 16 years of awful Dem rule. The STrib makes no effort to do this same analysis or to talk to experts who might question the study, it just accepts it as fact because it supports Dem ideology. (CAE Post)
