Catching Up on the Anti-Strib, Again

By October 11, 2026Commentary7 min read

It is kind of a misnomeer to call the Strib a local newspaper, it is really just a repeater of stories from other media sources and its coverage of local events is woebegone.

September 28– turns out that closing schools in Minneapolis won’t save much money because the real problem is excessive pay, especially retirement pay and benefits, to staff.  Iran terrorism.  The Rep Senate candidate hates transgender delusionists.  Excuses for the Dem candidate for Governor, claiming she really had nothing to do with all the fraud in Minnesota.  China isn’t going to slow up on AI, but hopes the US will.  Environmental terrorism around changing stupid car mileage rules.  Pandemic terrorism because the US won’t let the UN dictate to a country how it handles an epidemic.  A lot of people died in Palestine because they allowed Hamas to be in charge and attempt to genocide Israelis.

September 29–Trump use public money for ads promoting his administration’s accomplishments; no mention that the money is being repaid by a PAC.  Measles outbreak concern, which I share and which actually is due to RFK, Jr’s lunacy.  More attempts to undermine the Rep’s Senate candidate, because she might actually win.  Trump hurts Rep House candidates.  China requires reading of classic literature like Jane Eyre; the Strib fails to wonder why Minnesota doesn’t.

September 30–Minneapolis has failed for a decade to maintain an adequate police force and now the city is concerned about how much overtime it has to pay.  Two large health systems are planning to merge which will only make health care costs go up even more.  AI terrorism.  Jack Smith, who did as much as anyone to undermine democracy by conducting political investigations, is being treated unfairly.  The business section makes a big deal out of Minnesota iron ore being used in a new Iowa steel mill, without noting that Dems made it almost impossible to open that mine and that the steel mill would be here if we had a decent state government, like Iowa does.

October 1–the Strib does a rare job of good reporting, noting the the U of Minnesota may have a budget problem because it has excessive admin staff, but where else are incompetent ideologues going to get a job and without them how can Dems recycle taxpayer dollars into campaign contributions?  In related news, the Secretary of Defense actually is cutting administrative bloat at the Pentagon, but that is bad?  Immigration terrorism around deportations, of which there are not enough.  Keith Ellison is prosecuting fraud, after encouraging it for years, because he knows he is losing his race for re-election.

October 2–Medicare Advantage is in turmoil here as in other states.  The Strib celebrates Renee Good’s family suing ICE, it should be the other way around, but the Strib routinely makes heroes out of scum.  We have a serious crime problem in the Twin Cities and the Strib also routinely refuses to identify the source of most of these crimes.  DOJ is filing a complaint against the Minnesota federal judges who acted in a blatantly political way.  Trump and Vance are having to campaign in typically safe Rep areas.  Yay says the Strib.  Buried is a story about how bad educational attainment is in Minnesota schools, but the solution is to just stop testing says the Strib.

October 3–Somalis are being deported, but not enough off them.  The Strib is alarmed because there goes the source of Dem votes and voter fraud.  The Strib actually fact-checks the Dem ads telling lies, but basically makes excuses.  Meanwhile, property tax increases for next year may hit 20% in some areas.  Government is the affordability problem.

October 4–The Minneapolis public schools are dreadful, beyond dreadful, and it turns out that a number of the school board members can’t even be bothered to show up.  The usual load of TDS.  Even the business section is used to push the Strib’s ideology and Trump Derangement Syndrome, as it has ICE terrorism saying getting rid of illegals will raise meat prices–I thought it might be good if people had to be paid a fair wage for doing that work; and has tariff terrorism regarding Canada, which really just reveals how stupid Canada is.  They could cut their own tariffs, which have been used to suppress competition from the US for decades, but no, instead they are making it a political issue.

October 5–Strib is conflicted regarding the St. Paul Mayor’s blatant sexual harassment of the police chief, because shouldn’t it be okay if a woman does it.  Strib claims some violent crimes are down, although property crime is up but the real issue is how many crimes just aren’t reported.  Bruce Springsteen is a complete hack, a pathetic Dylan wannabee, but he is great because he celebrates Minnesota resistance to ICE.

October 6–The Supreme Court should let everyone sue every business over supposed climate change, so that we completely destroy our economy.  China applauds.  The WNBA is a whacked ideological organization.  Russian plague terrorism, which is something to worry about, given that country’s history.  South America is going all conservative, weep for them.

October 7–the federal government doesn’t think federal funds should be handed out in state projects based on race, etc., which is awful, how else will Dems get money from minority businesses.  Its Trump’s fault that there are more sexual assaults at colleges.  Brave environmentalists continue to oppose safe mining and other businesses that would help Minnesota’s flailing economy.  The Strib tries to minimize the Somali gang crime spree which has spread to the suburbs.

October 8–terrorists wanted to kill a bunch of people at the Mall of America.  Want to know what group they are from–the Strib won’t tell you.  Hamas brutally killed a bunch of Israelis, but somehow the bigger problem is what happened in Gaza when Israel tried to then eliminate this group of scum.

October 9–the Strib expresses concern that the DFL’s stupid opposition to data centers may hurt them in getting union votes.  Iran conflict terrorism.  More on the University of Minnesota having to close some campuses, which should be celebrated.  Trump is upsetting some GOP voters.  How about the whacked jihadist Dem candidates who are turning off their traditional voters?

October 10–Strib lies about Hegseth arranging a public execution of the Ft. Hood murderer.  Trump has a revenge campaign, funny I don’t remember that term being applied to Obama or Clinton.  ICE terrorism in NYC and the Strib praises the Nobel committee for giving the peace prize to a notorious anti-semite.
