This really is drudgery and I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t think it was important to help counter the drumbeat of ideological nonsense that comes out of the mainstream media. Increasingly it appears to me that subscribers to the Star Tribune could just save themselves some money by visiting the Dem party websites or subscribe to the NYTimes, since that is where most Strib stories originate.
September 20–to show you how painful this is, I have to go back this far to pick up the days. The Strib is coming around to not defending the mayor of St. Paul for her blatant sexual harassment, although its columnists are still trying to defend her. Immigration terrorism and sob stories. AI terrorism and a failure to note that AI is actually creating more jobs than it is taking away. The great deal the Trump administration got in regard to Greenland is buried. Minnesota’s way out of line federal judges are celebrated for being anti-Trump.
September 21–Hennepin County’s prosecutors, who are supposed to protect the public from criminals, are again trying to free the criminals instead. And we wonder why crime is so bad here. Pretty slow day otherwise, but the columnists take the opportunity to try to defend our excessive property taxes.
September 22–the Strib can’t avoid putting more Somali fraud on the front page. A Somali fixer appears to have profited from the fraud and turned some people in to prosecutors. Immigration terrorism, of course. Trump doesn’t want science research funding going for ideological purposes; somehow that is bad. The Minneapolis city council is a clown show, a war between whacked far-left ideologues and even more whacked, further-left ideologues. A new governor might improve relations with the White House. Not if it is another far-left, whacked Dem.
September 23–the Strib is astounded to learn that the Obamacare exchanges were riddled with fraud. Dems won’t debate in the state races and the Strib makes excuses for them. ICE terrorism. President Xi’s visit won’t go well. Iran war terrorism.
September 24–the Minneapolis schools suck and they are run by a completely incompetent school board. No one wants to go there so the number of students is way down and of course schools have to be closed. But whackos are fighting it. Reps insistence that people get off free food, free housing, free health care and get a job and work for living is just awful and is killing lots of people. No one wants to go to the U of Minnesota’s ideological cesspool either. Hispanic’s don’t like Trump any more, yea! Iran’s President’s speech to the UN is celebrated. This is the guy who ordered the killing of tens of thousands of his own citizens. And my favorite, scumbag Tim Walz says fraud shoudn’t define his legacy. He is right–there are other things, like raising taxes, driving businesses and workers out of the state, creating a lasting deficit, etc. And of course being the universe’s biggest liar is his real legacy.
September 25–More negativity on the meeting between Trump and Xi. The University of Minnesota has to cut its budget because no one wants to go there and it is overstaffed and overpays its radical professors. The Dem candidate for governor has lots of money, because of billionaire donors, but the one wealthy donor to the Rep candidate gets singled out. Thank you publisher Grove, doing your job for Dems. One of the fraudulent organizations in Minnesota gets off with paying a fraction of what it stole, thank you Keith Ellison.
September 26–More state college closing terrorisms. That system has been dreadful, done nothing in recent years to educate and train students and focuses instead on indoctrination. Bullshit about the Xi visit showing Trump embraces autocracy. The Supreme Court allows citizenship checks for voting, that is terrible, how can Dems win without voter fraud. But it is the business section that reveals the truth about how awful Dem government in Minnesota has been–the latest light rail line, which was supposed to open in 2018 and cost a mere $1.25 billion, will only open 9 years late, maybe in 2027, and cost over $3 billion. It will never get the riders it is projected to get, it will be a constant financial drain and it will be crime-infested and bring criminals from the city out to the suburbs.
September 27–The “public safety” community groups in Minneapolis are riddled with fraud. But what government program in Minnesota isn’t. Affordability is an issue in Minnesota but somehow the Strib ignores the huge cost of government in Minnesota, the single biggest and fastest rising cost. The Strib is more interested in waste in the ICE crackdown.
More to come.
