Politicians Getting Rich, Peggy Flanagan Style

By September 18, 2026Commentary2 min read

We have repeatedly seen how magically politicians from both major parties get very rich during their terms in office.  Some write books and give speeches, but there is a lot of stock market trading on inside information as well.  Here is an interesting example.  Peggy Flanagan, the literal dunce who has been the lieutenant governor of Minnesota and is now running for Senate, miraculously went from having less than $80,000 in assets before taking office to having $2,675,000 now.  During this time fraudsters stole billions from Minnesota programs, while Flanagan and Walz did absolutely nothing to stop it, in fact, encouraged and protected the fraudsters.  Not too hard to connect the dots, is it.

Meanwhile Flanagan is going around pretending to be poor and sympathetic to Minnesotans with affordability concerns.  The biggest affordability issue is the cost of government and what government does to raise the cost of other necessities.  Flanagan has overseen a massive income tax increase, huge boost in the sales and gas taxes, doubling of property taxes, outrageous license plate and other fees, a renewable energy mandate that drove electricity costs up and on and on.  But don’t worry, somehow she found a way to make a lot more money.
