The point of this series is to attempt to provide an antidote to the miserable reporting of news found in the grandiose “Minnesota” Star Tribune. Now to be fair, especially in regard to national topics, the Strib doesn’t even try to do journalism, it just picks up whatever is printed in the NYTimes, the Washington Post (although less so since Bezos has tried to actually have that paper do objective journalism) and the AP. But it dutifully carries both the national and local Dem party message, since that is its primary function. And I just avoid the editorial pages, which are filled with outright lies and demagoguery.
July 19–the top front-page story again celebrates those who violently and criminally interfered with legitimate federal law enforcement activities thereby encouraging further such violence and criminal activity. Lot of climate terrorism related to fires and smoke and nary a word of truth that we actually are having a low acres-burned season or that even the IPCC doesn’t think there is any link between supposed global warming and fires. Flat-out lies about temperature trends. Negativity about a state Rep candidate for governor. Trump is messing with US elections (from the NYTimes of course) but somehow the story misses all the actual fraud being reported.
July 20–More fire and climate terrorism. Gee-let’s spend some time on the Iran conflict and see if we can get Trump with that. It is just a mess. The Strib editors are engaging in some anti-semitism as they selectively print stories about the leading Israel/Jewish political action committee, while ignoring the activities of Muslim and other groups. Crime in the Twin Cities is completely out of control, and a vivid example is that St. Paul can do nothing to stop the theft of copper wires from street lights and can’t afford to fix them, so many areas have no lights at night.
July 21–More Iran terrorism, more ICE terrorism. Dems in Minnesota are reflecting the national party struggle over being just crazy or going completely full bonkers nuts on policy. We know which side the Strib roots for. Fire terrorism. More murders and shootings in Minneapolis.
July 22-Minneapolis is trying to do something about all the violence in the city–maybe you could hire the number of police you are required to have by your own charter. Maybe you could stop handcuffing the police and start handcuffing criminals. A local federal judge again encourages state and local enforcement to not help federal ones. Some Iran war terrorism, but the Dems are having trouble finding a clear message on how to attack Trump on this. The federal government is pulling back on economy-killing “energy efficiency” rules, which will end life on earth as we know it. Israel is bad, really bad. Millionaire multi-home owner Bernie Sanders comes to Minnesota to support lunatic idiot Flanagan for Senate and attack the rich.
July 23–The Iran war is bad and it is all Trump’s fault. The Minneapolis public schools have a horrible fiscal problem and the Strib finally discovers they have been irresponsible, maybe crooked. The federal government is withholding funds to Minnesota for fraud-ridden programs; how dare they. Mamdani is a hero for going after those evil Jews.
July 24–Gas prices are rising due to the Iran conflict and it is all Trump’s fault, well maybe the Jews get some blame too. If Trump lets the Saudis enrich uranium for power it will lead to a catastrophic nuclear war. Hmm what about Obama sitting there while North Korea developed not just nuclear weapons but missiles to reach the US. Immigration terrorism.
July 25–The most important thing in Minnesota is that a woman in Rochester, defending her kids, used the N word and was convicted, likely unconstitutionally. Republicans are properly blaming Canada for the smoke issues in the US, but somehow that is bad. Leftist whackos in Madison go apeshit after police kill someone threatening them with a weapon. Police are supposed to just let themselves be killed or injured. That is the Minnesota message. The FDA is endangering Americans by approving “peptide” compounds. Iran and the Mideast are a mess and its Trump’s fault. Another Minnesota gets away with violence against federal immigration officers.

I liken left-wing news sources to the tik-tok trend of ‘Couples Paint Each Other’, where two people will render a painting of the person sitting across from them; the results are always terrible, far from what the person actually looks like.
