The Anti-Strib, Week of June 12, 2026

By July 1, 2026Commentary6 min read

Once again, I am backed up on my favorite (groan) post series.  A reminder that the Minneapolis Star Tribune is an arm of the local DFL party and is part of the national network of media outlets that serve solely to help create and spread the Dem message of the moment, which these days is all about demonizing Trump and conservatives and pretending that everything Dems do is just great.  So off we go into fantasyland, with a reminder that 90% of “news” stories in the paper come from other sources.

June 12–hagiography about the letter community, which finds new ways to offend common decency every year with the so-called “Pride” parade and other events, and appears to be veering off into pedophilia with its emphasis on enticing children.  Trump is inconsistent on Iran, but the Strib hopes he fails.  The state and Hennepin County are still wasting time trying to prosecute ICE agents for doing their job.  More illegal immigration terrorism about Alligator Alcatraz in Florida.  Climate terrorism about El Nino, which in reality is turning out to be literally not so hot.   One of Minnesota’s elite fraudsters gets picked up in Africa and returned; the Strib hopes he won’t rat out Walz and Ellison.

June 13–  students aren’t happy that the U of Minnesota is both cutting its budget and raising tuition.  Of course they are mad about the wrong things; they should be complaining about the excessive admin staff, excessive pay, and the focus on nothing but woke indoctrination.  Europe might have to defend itself instead of leeching off the US.  Whacked Dem-appointed federal judges are still abusing their power to stop everything Trump does; the Strib celebrates.

June 14–mental health care is harder to find for children and they need a lot of it in Minnesota with the abuse they take from Dem policies.  Downtown Minneapolis has a lot of new condos and residents but office buildings are empty and those residents will be leaving when they get their property tax bills.  They are mostly people moving from one part of Minneapolis to another anyway as return to work policies pick up steam.  An absurd article about how wonderful the new Obama memorial library to his wonderful self is.  The memorial looks exactly like it should–a soul-less, ugly block.

June 15 and 16–Strib still not sure how to play the Iran war.  Not much else in the news section other than the usual.

June 17–the cost of our stupid light rail extension project is now at $3.58 billion, over triple the original estimate and it is only like five years behind schedule.  A typical Tim Walz government project–excessive costs and no service.  Trump’s approval is down, in big bold headlines.  The criminals who violently interfered with the detention of illegal immigrants might face federal charges, as they should.  There is no voter fraud in Minnesota so why is there a story about someone being charged with allowing unregistered voters to vote.

June 18–Tim Walz is very unpopular, gosh, I wonder why.  The new state flag, which is an homage to Somalia, is deeply unpopular.  The criminals who interfered with ICE enforcement were just engaging in speech.  Ha, Ha.  The Iran deal is bad, at least if you frame it the way the Strib does, via the WashPo.  The US is not giving Iran $300 billion, in fact it is unlikely anyone will.  Supposedly a reconstruction fund will be set up that countries or people can invest in, but why would anyone as long as the nuts are in charge.  Trump’s ballroom at the White House is both offensive and expensive, except most is being paid for by private individuals and this upgrade has long been needed to provide a safe place for large state dinners and official gatherings.  Trump is trying to beautify Washington, but the reflecting pool still has algae; no mention that it also has whacked Dem vandals.  Trump is stopping more expensive and unreliable wind power projects, which apparently is a climate disaster.  The FTC is going after the woke medical association that lied about research behind its guidelines favoring mutilating every child in the name of gender ideology.

June 19–  For some reason a Rep governor candidate gets first page headlines about lack of fundraising.  A Dem never would.  But we do get a little balance as there is a story about rifts in the Dem party, which are about who has the most extreme views.  The Strib, six years too late, is finding that the state didn’t do a good job of investigating the massive frauds in welfare programs.  The Strib is disappointed to find out that gas prices are falling fast.

June 20–More of the nonsensical attempts by the state and Hennepin County to charge and try ICE agents–those will all be found to be pre-empted by federal law, so a big waste of money and resources; while nothing is done to catch the violent criminals committing murders, assaults, rapes and robberies every day.  The Minneapolis police department is in complete disarray, due to no support from the City Council or the Mayor.  Residents pay the price.  A flu outbreak at a military base must be due to making the flu vaccine optional–no data about whether the ones who got sick were or weren’t vaccinated, but the flu vaccine has about zero effectiveness.

June 21–A private school has woke leadership that is riling up parents and the Strib notices.  Shocking.  More Iran chaos, more ICE terrorism.

My only worry is when Alpha News buys the Strib – we won’t have these to read anymore….lol
