Elon Musk, Success and Hate

By June 13, 2026Commentary3 min read

There are no moderate Dems, they are all extreme, radical, far, far left lunatics now.  Their sole message for decades has been a woeful story of victims, oppressed, oppressors, all driven by immutable factors–your skin color, your gender, your ethnicity and so on.  They don’t care about hard work or innovation.  In fact, they hate success, especially in America because they essentially hate America.  These are miserable, mentally ill, self-loathing people.  So of course, they hate Elon Musk and they particularly hate the wealth he has generated.

Elon is an immigrant, so you would think that would endear him to the Dems, but then he was a legal immigrant from South Africa, so he starts out with counts against him.  He came here with nothing.  He learned computer programming and engineering.  He built multiple successful companies, from scratched.  Along the way he has created thousands and thousands of well-paying jobs.  He has taken little salary and relied solely on making money from creating value.  If his companies were not successful, he would make nothing.  If you believe the global warming hysteria, Tesla has done as much as any company to limit the use of fossil fuels, but even that can’t spare him the Dems wrath.

Space X is a phenomenal company, again built from nothing, creating a very cheap and reliable method of getting satellites into orbit, bringing internet access to places where there was none and becoming invaluable to the US military and space program.  It has a strong artifical intelligence arm and a robotics division which should be very successful.  After several rounds of private financing, Elon has taken the company public.  This has created enormous wealth, but only on paper.  Liquidating that wealth to actual cash will take decades and require that SpaceX achieve incredibly stretched objectives.

This isn’t just Elon’s wealth; he is making thousands of employees into millionaires, just as occurred with Microsoft and many other successful companies.  He is making huge amounts of money for his institutional investors like pension funds that cover millions of workers.  What he has done as an individual for the American economy is unmatched.  He works in the tradition of a Ford, an Edison, a Carnegie, a Vanderbilt, even a Gates.  These people are heroes, they should be celebrated every day.

But in the land of Warren, Sanders, Mandami, AOC, Platner and all the other idiots, most of whom are themselves wealthy, but didn’t earn it–they inherited it or stole it from the public–Musk is demonized and hated.  People can talk all they want about toning down the rhetoric, but the whacked Dem party leaders are the enemy of American prosperity and success, they would turn us into Britain economically and China as an rigid ideological authoritarian state.  They are the facists and the Nazis.  They must be fought with every shred of our being and I hope Elon turns billions of his wealth to that task.

Spot on Kevin. This is the currency that the current Dem party trades in – low productivity, envy and hate.

I agree with almost all of this, especially about Elon, but not all Dems are far far left. Also, I wish you had commented on what I see as the insane SpaceX stock valuation at 100x revenues. Finally I would note that until Elon started visibly supporting Trump, the Right hated him almost as much as the Left does now. Zerohedge was obsessed with hammering Tesla and posting negativity every time a Tesla got in an accident. But now it’s crickets from that wacko vodka-fueled conspiracy-touting America-hating website.

What seems like a crazy valuation now may not seem that way in a couple of years. And that is the function of a market, it is what buyer is willing to pay. I wouldn’t buy it at that valuation, but then I wouldn’t buy Nvidia at its valuation 5 years ago and it grew into the valuation. Zero Hedge is pretty balanced between promoting conspiracy theories and giving good information hard to find elsewhere

As a CPA that came of age in my career in the 1980’s with the savings and loan crash – One of the most important lessons learned – is the value of any business is present value of the future cash flows with the largest variable being what are the future cash flows. ( that being said, I have no opinion on the current or future value of space x since I have spend zero time analyizing the business)

Many Democrat voters are not far left lunatics, but they vote for the far left lunatics. They seem to just ignore the craziest stuff (open borders, trans-insanity, DEI, communist ideas, etc.) and persist in their belief that the Dems are the “nice”, pro-democracy party while the Republicans are the “mean”, authoritarian party. I have no idea how to get through to them since their beliefs do not seem to have a foundation in reality. A big part of that is the Left’s control of the media. Very frustrating.
