Minnesota Is Not Even Close to a Good State

The Strib and Dems are making much of a supposed study saying Minnesota is the top ranked state.  The “study” is not research at all.  The organization that produced this report purports to be bipartisan but leans left in its directors and funders.  All the authors did was make up a flimsy set of 31 measures across a few categories and give their basically subjective weighting to the results.  The board also attempted to justify its measures by a small poll of the population to see what people thought were important measures of quality of life.  Interestingly, the board chose to ignore a number of measures the people believed important, such as adult knowledge of civics, percent of people who think the country is headed in the right direction, trust in government, rankings of public schools and so on.  Seems to me that instead of relying on “experts” to develp the measures, using what the actual people living in the country think matters might be best.

The absurdity of Minnesota’s ranking is show by certain items.  For example, the state supposedly ranks 2nd on citizenship and democracy, but this is based solely on voter particpation, which tells you nothing, especially if a lot of the participation is fraudulent.  There is nothing to measure the actual election processes, nothing that addresses the corruption of having huge out-of-state donations swing elections or the disportionate impact of teacher and other government employee unions.  Nothing at all about the absolute refusal to institute even the most minimal safeguards to prevent abusive and fraudulent election tactics.  Minnesota, for example, has absolutely refused to allow any audit of voter rolls.

Here is another one that is bizarre the other way.  We ranked low, 32nd, on civil liberties, but again, there is one measure, freedom of the press.  I have no idea how they determined this one, maybe they recognize that the Strib is nothing but a political mouthpiece for the DFL.  We rank 4th in education according to this group, which is directly counter to all the recent releases and rankings of our state’s educational attainment, which is in sharp decline and below that of most southern states.

Here is the most telling measure to me, the one that gives a better picture of the true state of the state.  Out mental health rankings have been headed down and on youth depression we rank 43rd.  That is very understandable, young people in this state are subjected to constant bombardment with whacked leftist extreme indoctrination; indoctrination which basically amounts to teaching self-loathing.  You are a victim or you are an oppressor, you should hate your skin color, hate your country, hate your gender, maybe you are even born in the wrong body.  It is a miracle that any child in Minnesota would feel happy.   (Minnesota Report)

I am sure that the Incompetent Blowhard, hisself, the recently slimmed down due to weight loss drugs, Little Timmy Walz, will be pimping these results far and wide.  The Star Tribune, the acknowledged official outlet of the DFL party in Minnesota, already has done so. But the truth is this is just another flawed set of subjective rankings that has little to do with actual quality of life.
