The Earth has been around for a few billion years. The continents have had their rough current shape for a few hundred million years. Our current set of ice ages is maybe a few milion years old. Advanced human civilization is at most a thousand years old. Our ability to accurately do weather-related measurements is maybe 150 years old. So whenever the climate hysterics talk about something “unprecedented”, they are lying. Sometimes they will quality it with “recorded”, which at most is about 100 years. There is in fact nothing unprecedented about the current temperature state of the Earth; it has been both far warmer and far colder in the past. The notion that humans are having such a dramatic effect on climate is unproven. As I never tire of pointing out, the hysteria is driven by rich people seeking to make massive profits on “renewable” energy. These rich people fund all the academic nuts and NGOs which are predisposed to ideological authoritarianism and want to use the climate “emergency” to tell us all how we have to live.
Fortunately there are a few sane voices that persist in doing solid research, despite having immense headwinds in doing so. Here is a paper from a Danish scientist putting climate in a good context. He reviews a ton of data, noting few significant changes over recent decades, and the usual observation that changes in cloud cover appear to be the likely explanation for any warming that has occurred. All supposed changes to “climate” can be explained by natural processes and as he says, there appears to be no human-caused climate disaster on the horizon. (Humlum Paper)
