The big news in climate hysteria is of course that the powers that be in climate science at the IPCC have been forced to acknowledge that the doomsday scenarios they put forth are totally unrealistic. The climate nuts will still use them.
One thing that is hilarious about climate change is that on some issues the hysterics can’t seem to make up their minds about what is scarier. Will climate change cause more rain or less rain, for example. Well, on that one they don’t have to worry, apparently the answer is that if there has been human-caused climate change in recent decades it hasn’t made any change to precipitation patterns. The study looks back almost 700 years and finds no change in precipitation patterns that could be linked to CO2 or other human activities. In fact in some areas, there were more severe droughts in the past. At some point, when all the horrible things your theory says will happen clearly aren’t happening, you might decide your theory is wrong. But then that would mean you couldn’t keep making trillions of dollars off of it. (WUWT Post)
An interesting study looks at why although it is claimed that CO2 warms a lower part of the atmosphere, it apparently cools a higher area of it. According to these researchers that is because of the wavelengths of light emitted by CO2. This is a purely modeling study, there is no experimental proof and it is basically an attempt to salvage the badly leaking theory that human-emitted CO2 is causing warming. And I expect people smarter than me will shortly debunk the model used by these authors. (Nature Study)
