The Anti-Strib, Week of April 27, 2026

By May 2, 2026Commentary4 min read

I am heading out of town again for a couple of weeks, so I won’t be reading the dismal publication that is the Minnesota Star Tribune.  This is a last summary before I leave.

April 27–the “alleged” assassin at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, note the “alleged” used by the Strib, has his writings examined.  This, as usual, is another AP story, and of course AP and the Strib can’t acknowledge that is yet again another example of far-left, extreme, radical (i.e. mainstream Dem) violence.  Trump is hurting farmers, part of his base.  Of course the Strib delights in anything that might upset anyone who supports Trump.

April 28–a man is charged with the attempted assassination of Trump, but still no mention of his far-left politics and his indoctrination by the violence spewed online by whacked Dem extremists.  The Virginia redistricting effort is under attack, which worries the Strib as it might hurt the paper’s benefactors.

April 29–more raids on fraudulent sites in Minnesota, almost all run by Somalis, but it is racist to note that.  The state has a never-ending spigot of money to give to fraudsters with no attempt to stop it.  Walz hilariously tries to claim it was joint work, but he got slapped down, because it was all feds.  Walz and Ellison are the last people anyone would trust to stop fraud, they both promote it.  The US is hurting farmers in Cuba–no, the Communist government of Cuba has destroyed the country.  The Republican Senate candidate is having trouble with the party–also a lie, she is very popular and will get the nomination and may win, which is what really bothers the Strib.  The new Minnesota flag is widely hated and a number of cities refuse to use it, flying the old one instead.  The new one is boring and looks like a Somali flag.

April 30–the Iran war has cost $25 billion so far, almost as much as has been stolen by fraudsters in Minnesota.  Still publishing stories about how we should feel sorry for people who came to Minnesota illegally and are dealing with the consequences.  The Supreme Court is destroying voting rights by insisting that there not be discrimination in setting Congressional districts.  The environment will be destroyed if the EPS has to cut its bloated staff and spending.  Changing the Defense Department’s name will cost money.  Everything Trump does is bad, if you didn’t know that.

May 1–Fraud claims in Minnesota are overwhelming investigators, who are finally being allowed to investigate, after Walz and Ellison threatened them into silence.  The Iran war is causing higher oil prices, has no clear end, blah, blah, blah, Trump is bad.  The Strib finally notices that a family it lionized is being charged for assaulting a female reporter.  What they don’t note is the criminal history of the father.

You get the drift and nothing will change while I am gone.  This is a woeful paper on its way down the tubes.  It isn’t even printed in Minnesota anymore, so the sports news, for example, is a day old.  It begs for donations.  Almost every front-page story is cribbed from left-wing media sources.  The paper could make an effort to actually do journalism and stop being ideological, but that would be inconsistent with its mission to help Dems and destroy conservatives.

At what point does Glenn Taylor put the Strib out of its misery and simply take the tax write-off to offset his $1.4 billion capital gain from the sale of the T-Wolves?
