The Anti-Strib, Week of April 20, 2026

By April 28, 2026Commentary3 min read

We return to our regular updates on the talking points promulgated by the NYTimes, AP and the Wash Post, as reprinted in the Star Tribune.  As we know, everything is about how to demonize Trump and conservatives more generally.  We already got some of this week done.

April 22–One very predictable consequence of King Walz and Dunce Ellison promoting widespread fraud in government programs is that when the reaction came, it would affect legitimate providers helping genuinely needy people.  The Strib seems shocked that this happened.  The Strib’s take on the SPLC promoting racist organizations to justify its existence is to claim the organization is under attack.  A week late, Ilhan Omar’s bullshit financial disclosure nonsense finally hits the Strib, which fully buys into the “accounting error” garbage.  The Minneapolis school district is in trouble with the IRS because it can’t do basic math, which isn’t surprising since none of its students can either.

April 23–Strib still struggling with how to make the Iran conflict look bad for Trump.  Mentioning anything bad as a consequence that the paper can find.  And trying to say that Obama had solved the problem, instead of acknowledging that he created the conditions for the current crisis.  The Minneapolis school district is trying to boost falling enrollment.  It should be eliminated and put out of its misery, and its students’ misery as well.  The Virginia redistricting effort is covered with nary a word about destroying democracy–compare to coverage of Texas’ redistricting.  The CDC won’t publish another bullshit vaccine effectiveness study.  Makary understands just how bad the methodology is.  A Democrat congressperson makes a fortune trading stocks and says she did nothing wrong.  Mayor Frey claims a Minneapolis neighborhood that has become completely decrepit is on the way back–in his dreams.

April 24–Hegseth is clearing out inadequate military officials, he was appointed by Trump so this must be bad.  Diesel costs are way up because of Iran and that will destroy the economy.  The Minneapolis police are doing a bad job–big surprise since the Strib has been a leader in demonizing them, leading to an massive shortfall in staffing and a demoralized force.  King Walz is writing a book on the ICE surge in Minneapolis, it will undoubtedly be sold as a work of fiction.

April 25–the whacked Dem party which supports anarchy and violence has affected even local political races.  Trump might seek to punish NATO countries that failed to help contain Iran–I would hope so, these countries have free-ridden on the US long enough.  The idiot mayor of Minneapolis will veto a measure legalizing drug paraphernalia, but that won’t stop the decline of the city, which is riddled with homelessness and drug use.

April 26–Pete Hegseth has a Christian faith.  And?  What is the point?  ICE arrests have dropped slightly, but it is still an awful agency.  The rest of the rubbish isn’t even worth mentioning.
