Tylenol and Autism

RFK, Jr. is a nut job; he doesn’t believe in facts, he relies on made up crap that benefits his trial lawyer buddies. Occasionally he persuades the President to say something stupid, as he did with Tylenol and autism; but Trump’s patience is wearing thin.  The damage is done to some extent, as a drug that is very helpful for pregnant mothers and for parents in dealing with infants’ and young children’s fevers and illness has been tarnished.  The research was clear before that there was no link between Tylenol use and autism.  Now we have a very large, well done study confirming this.  Researchers in Denmark did a population-based analysis of prenatal Tylenol exposure, including sub-analyses with siblings and other sensitivity tests.  They found zero link.  I would like to think this would put the matter to rest, but it is very unlikely given the power of trial lawyers and the tendency of many people to accept conspiratorial theories.
