During the epidemic I found myself being applauded and denounced by the same groups on two major vaccine issues. On the one hand, based on the data and research, I made it clear that the CV-19 vax were basically ineffective at preventing infection and perhaps marginally effective at preventing serious disease and death, which is typical of a vaccine against viruses that primarily act in the respiratory tract. On the other hand, I took on the vaccine safety nuts, who spread every lie they could in a completely fact-free manner. One of the main claims of the vax safety nuts has been that untold numbers of young healthy Americans were just dropping dead after being vaxxed. Not one shred of data supports this idiotic claim.
And a new study piles on. Researchers looked at the population of Ontario that was under 50 years of age to look for sudden cardiac arrest and death. People with pre-existing heart disease or mental illness were excluded. Out of over 6,350,000 people included in the study, between April of 2021 and July of 2023, 5000 died of sudden cardiac arrest. Not only was CV-19 vaccination not associated with death, including examining the period right after receipt of any dose of the vaccine; but vaccinated persons had a lower likelihood of such a sudden cardiac arrest death. But I am sure no amount of research evidence will mean anything to the delusional conspiracy theorists. (PLOS Study)
The basic conclusions that covid vaccines were only marginally effective and that adverse effects of the covid vaccines were largely non existent is consistent with most every non biased research I have seen.
One of the unfortunate issues associated with the conspiracy based claims that the covid vaccines caused adverse health effects is that it creates the perception that all complaints about covid vaccines are conspiracy theories. Thus legitimate data analysis or data showing conflicting results demonstrating effectiveness of vaccines are overstated are likewise treated as conspiracy theories.
