Been an interesting week for climate research, lot of non-hysterical stuff sneaking out, consistent with the public’s turn away from this drivel which was solely funded by rich people to get even richer off the renewable energy scam. One more interesting piece examines Arctic ice variability over the last 20 years. I didn’t know there was any Arctic ice left, I recall Al Gore telling us all that it would be gone by 2013, which I believe was 13 years ago. Of course Al Gore made himself a billionaire off climate hysteria and the renewable energy swindle. In any event, it turns out that like most thinks in climate, Arctic ice levels–extent, thickness, total mass–are variable, and that variability is driven by natural factors, not human actions, although humans undoubtedly have some impact on weather and maybe climate in some ways.
The researchers conclude that there has been no ice loss in the Arctic since 2005 and they believe that this “pause” in the sea ice loss could continue for another 5 to 10 years. If you go back to the very earliest Arctic satellite pictures, from the late 1970s, you will see that sea ice extent was about the same as it is now. It grew after that and then it shrank and now it isn’t shrinking and the truth is that ice extent in the Arctic is as likely to grow as to shrink. The extent has nothing to do with human actions and everything to do with natural processes like the varying amount of solar energy reaching the surface.
I will note again that these authors, in the face of the evidence they present from actual measurements and facts, feel forced to pray to the climate hysterics God and claim that “models” indicate that the decline will probably accelerate. For the 1000th time, models only tell you what you tell them to tell you and the hysterics tell them to show lots of warming and all kinds of horrible things, none of which are actually happening. It is a sad thing when to get published at all scientists feel obliged to lie and follow the ideological dictates of editors and publishers. And we wonder why there is so much scientific fraud these days. (AGU Study)

You can also look at the pictures from Apollo and Gemini missions from the late 1960’s which show comparable or slightly less ice extent than present day.
There is a heavy reliance on using 1979 as the starting point – “the start of the satellite era” which coincides with the end of a cold spell, while ignoring other documented evidence that conflicts with the narrative.
