An Unfortunate Task’s Time Has Come Again

By October 17, 2025Commentary5 min read

Yes, it is time once again to delve into the sordid and puerile minds of the editors and reporters at the Star Tribune.

So how are Dems attacking Trump now, since that is apparently the sole role of traditional media at this point, and what sort of Minnesota specific disasters are being minimized and covered up by our beloved “leading” newspaper?

The shutdown is bad, very bad, and it is all Trump and Reps fault.  The shutdown is totally due to Dems.  It takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass the continuing resolution that the House has already passed.  Democrats won’t vote for it.  It is completely 100% the Dems responsibility.

The voting rights law is being eviscerated and minorities will never be able to vote again.  The truth–a small part of the law that has allowed racial gerrymandering of voting districts is clearly unconstitutional and will be struck down.

Attacking boats from Venezuela that are bringing drugs that have killed hundreds of thousands of people in the US is bad, very bad.  These scum are entitled to due process, according to the Strib.  Hegseth is generally out of control in trying to make the military and actual in-shape, trained, focused fighting force.

Trump’s stopping USAID literally killed children in Africa–the Strib had the audacity to actually run that story with not one word questioning why those countries aren’t handling the disease and other issues themselves.  Oh, maybe it because they are run by scum who steal all the money for themselves.

Immigration is a pretty constant theme–lots of illegals, even if they are criminals, is apparently good, especially if they are used to vote for Dem candidates, as they are in Minnesota.   Assaulting law enforcement who are trying to remove illegal immigrants is also good.   Trump using federal law enforcement and military resources to try and stop crime in Dem-run cities is also very, very bad.  Better that innocent people keep getting killed, raped, assaulted and robbed.

Tariffs are bad, very bad, better than we are totally dependent on China for our electronics, drugs and other necessities.  They are especially bad fro Minnesota farmers.  Immigration constraints will make our food more expensive.  Need those illegals to wipe our asses and harvest our crops.

Lower federal court judges, appointed by Dem presidents, are doing their best to thwart Trump, but that evil Supreme Court keeps telling them to stick to the law.

Trump is hurting disabled people by trying to take away their benefits.  Social Security disability is a heavily-abused program and that abuse hurts the disabled people who actually need.  There are millions of slackers who need to be removed from the program.

Guns are bad, really bad, and they cause people to shoot other people.  Not a word about the Dem indoctrination in schools being the real cause.

The state is being “targeted” by the federal Department of Justice, maybe because of insane and discriminatory policies.  Our voter rolls do need a full audit.  Young women should not have to compete with males in sports, illegal immigrants should not be here, especially criminal ones.  Maybe Keith Ellison, a virulent racist, should focus on actual crime, instead of grandstanding.

No credit to Trump for trying to end the fighting in Gaza and at least getting a cease-fire in place.   In the initial stories, Muslim who attacked a synagogue in the UK and killed Jews is mysteriously never mentioned as being Muslim or as that being his overt motive for the attack.  But watch out for Christian “nationalists” in the US.

It is taking longer for people in Minnesota to get a job, but don’t worry the state economy is just great, although Trump is endangering the whole US economy.

We have all kinds of fraud in Minnesota including somehow allowing a 22 year-old to attend high school with fake ID so he could prey on students.  None of the fraud is Tim Walz fault.   Shockingly, the same people, mostly Somalis, are responsible for repeated fraud in multiple programs.  Gosh, how could anyone have foreseen that.   Fat Timmy spent time delusionally claiming Trump will send the National Guard to Minnesota and may arrest him.  I guarantee you Trump doesn’t waste one second thinking about the Incompetent Blowhard.  Trump cancelling renewable energy boondoogles in Minnesota hurts, not clear how, since it will mean lower electricity bills.

Minnesota, or really the Twin Cities, have a serious crime problem, including on the subways, but it will get better if we just stop reporting crimes and don’t talk about them.  Minnesota has a new family leave law that is just wonderful, even though it will put a lot of companies out of business.

A film, “A Precarious State” telling the truth about how bad Minnesota and the Twin Cities are, is suspicious, we need to know who funded it, and why they dared to reveal exactly how bad it is here.

And of course, the usual blather about global warming and various environmental catastrophes being caused by Trump and Reps.

You get the picture, Minnesotans who read the Strib certainly don’t.

My Wall Street Journal came with a free copy of the Strib this morning. Even though it is that time of the year where all four major sports are active plus college and high school football, a slim 6-page sports section was all they could deliver.

The obituary page was a corner of one page of paper. Apparently the funeral directors are telling the bereaved to not even bother with a notice in the paper.

And if not for several pages of foreclosure notices (their largest advertiser?), the paper might have been 33% smaller.

It would certainly appear many of their readers have figured things out and stopped subscribing.

Haha, thanks for taking that bullet for us! I don’t think there’s enough blood pressure medicine on the planet to calm me down from reading their propaganda.

Nothing about all the car break in? I’m thinking that’s the same group that was car jacking a couple years ago and stealing street light wiring last year. It’s the new thing. Idiot dems never do anything because they’re teens. Luckily it’s mostly in Mpls and close suburbs that keep voting for it.
