When I say that whacked woke pro(re)gressivism has infested every corner of the Strib, it is true. And the counterpart is also true–there is about zero objective journalism or reporting going on. Every story has some DIE angle or is designed to hurt Trump and/or boost Dems. Here are examples from today’s paper. In the entertainment section, a review of a production of Cabaret at the Guthrie theater focuses on how it highlights the similarities between pre-Hitler Germany and the Trump administration, referred to as incipient facism. Somehow the authoritarian, dictatorial policies of the Biden and Walz administrations get ignored by the Strib.
Then we have the business section with a story on how federal funding cuts could silence tribal and rural radio. If these stations are so fucking important to these audiences, they can figure out how to pay for them, including getting state or local dollars, but really people need to stop expecting that taxpayers around the country should pay for whatever they want. But get this statement in the story, a quote from the moron running one of these stations–“They’re hurting a community that has constantly struggled to overcome the trauma that has been placed on us.” That perfectly encapsulates the whacked Dem vision of America–everyone is a victim, everyone has been triggered and traumatized, everyone is disabled in some manner, and therefore everyone should get everything they want for free, paid for by someone else. The ultimate destruction that results from this view is obvious. The real trauma inflicted on Native Americans and many other minority groups is having leaders with this kind of attitude, who promulgate this negative, defeatist attitude.
On in the main section, we don’t want to let this go, Minnesota’s workers covered by public employee unions are getting another grotesque contract giving them pay and benefits far beyond anything obtainable in the private sector and further sinking the state into bankruptcy. We need an administration that will literally fire a third of all state employees, institute actual objective, outsider performance reviews, and ensure that no government employee gets any more pay or any better benefits than the average for a similar job in the private sector.
All kinds of commentary about Minnesota politics BUT Still waiting for your words of wisdom on the recent murder of the Hortmans. Got nothing, eh?
I commented on them right after they occurred
