Debunking Climate Hysteria, May 31, 2025

By May 31, 2025Commentary1 min read

Another big hysteric lie–hurricanes are more frequent and more powerful.  Roger Pielke Jr is following in the footsteps of his father, who was an outstanding climate rationalist.  Look at the graphs in this post, they tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth about hurricanes.  There is more damage, but it is purely caused by the increase in building along coasts and by the rise in property values.  If you translated all damage over the last 125 years into today’s dollars, looks about the same.  We had a couple of bad years in frequency a decade ago and then several years with no major US hurricanes.  Average power per hurricane is stable.  If you cherrypick a time period, you can find an increasing trend, but it doesn’t exist over long climate cycles.  In short, as usual nothing to panic or even worry about.  If you move to and live on the Gulf or Atlantic coasts, you should expect that at some point you are going to have a hurricane.  (Pielke Article)
