A Few Days of the Anti-Strib, May 22, 2025

By May 22, 2025Commentary3 min read

I was out of the country for a little over a week, and am in catch up mode again.  What is apparent as I skim the paper for themes, is that they rarely change.  Strib’s main news (i.e., Dem propaganda) section takes most of its stories from elsewhere–the NYTimes, the Washington Post, AP.  Those sources are directly connected to the Dem propaganda machine and take their orders from the Dems–here is what to say today.  You can tell this by the sameness of the headlines and content of the stories.  As you will have guessed, the primary theme is always “Trump is bad, very, very bad”.

And the Strib dutifully follows the script given to it, and for local stories relies on Fat Timmy Walz to give it direction, since one of Fat Timmy’s former cabinet members is now the publisher of the Strib.  It is so blatant it is laughable, and the Strib is in deep financial shit, with almost no advertising and having to raise the newstand price of the paper by 50%.  The paper is literally a piece of crap that no one trusts or really reads, including the whacked Dems whose views it promotes, because they already know what the Strib is going to say.

In any event, the Trump bad theme prevails in every day’s front section.  Trump’s embrace of cryptocurrency is corrupt.  The weather service is in desperate shape due to DOGE cuts.  Barely concealed support for the vicious Gazans and hate for Israel.  A whole article creating excuses for white genocide in South Africa.  The South African president was “ambushed” by a video showing repeated chants to kill white farmers.  The ambush theme was omnipresent, but he was hardly ambushed, everyone knew what was coming.

Justices end protection for Venezuelans?  No they didn’t, an out-of-control Dem appointed judge made up protections that the Supreme Court said clearly don’t exist.  The Trump is mean to illegal immigrants theme seems to be losing steam, however.  The tariff bogeyman definitely has lost momentum.  The Republican House budget is terrible, although the same budget done by Dems would be saving the country.  Some random climate hysteria thrown in.  If it is at all warm this summer, I expect this will become a new theme against Trump.

We also learn that some female high school athletes are suing our racist Attorney General for forcing them to compete against male athletes who pretend to be female, creating a risk of serious injury and making it hard for the women to win.  Our state legislature is meeting in secret to cut deals that they will try to hide from the public, but will definitely be bad for the state.  The federal government wisely decides to keep its nose out of local policing issues, and is going to dump a last-minute consent decree the Biden administration tried to impose on Minneapolis.
