The Anti-Strib, March 8, 2025

By March 8, 2025Commentary

Let’s start with the business section today.  US job growth was solid in February.  It was okay, but in the first sentence and paragraph we read that bad news is ahead because……Trump–he threatens a trade war, cuts federal workers and deports illegal immigrants.  And the TSA workers are no longer covered under a collective bargaining agreement, which is supposedly a horrid abuse of worker rights.  Turns out that this was cover for keeping incompetent agents and for paying a ton of people to allegedly work for the union.

Now to the front page, where coverage of the massive meals for kids fraud trial continues, with still no mention of the role of Fat Timmy’s administration.  Lower down we read about more incompetence or crookedness from his administration, as the state has to repay the federal government $113 million because it misspent Medicaid funds.  Any chance the idiots who are responsible for this will be fired?  Of course not, they vote Dem and contribute some of their inflated salaries to the party.

Researchers and scientists protest Trump’s cuts.  Again, these are not scientists, they are ideolgues feeding at the whacked Dem party trough.  I think the country can survive without research on transgender mice.  And the incredible waste represented by the overhead allocations is money not actually going to do any research.  These alleged researchers are all grotesquely overpaid, rarely produce anything that meaningfully helps society and are generally a completely useless spending drain.  Not a word in this story about the real reason for the “cuts”.

But I will say we did get some fairly informative and neutral reporting on a few topics today.
