The Anti-Strib, March 2, 2025

I am falling behind already.  Hard to take too much of this stuff.  The headline on Sunday’s front page–about how the attempt to capture and remove illegal immigrants occasionally makes a mistake.  Why is this the headline story–because Minnesota encourages the presence of illegal immigrants since no one else wants to live in the state, and of course, because anything Trump does is wrong.  Another Trump change makes the front page, about how funding fror transportation should be linked to population growth.  Well, duh.  But the Strib thinks this is bad because for states like Minnesota that people are fleeing as quickly as they can, it means less money, and more for the conservative states that are rationally governed and have growing populations.

Inside, Putin wins oval office blowup, Klobuchar is stunned, etc.  I am a very strong supporter of Ukraine; Zelenskyy was an idiot, there is no other way to put it.  What happened was totally his fault, hopefully he figures out how to patch it up.  Dems hammer GOP on Medicaid.  No mention of the impact of Medicaid on the budget deficit, on the astounding amount of fraud in the program, on the millions of slackers who get better health care than almost all hard-working Americans.  Continuation of a story on evictions that ignores the fact that these people didn’t pay their rent and drums up sympathy for them.  Get a job, work harder, spend your money wisely.  When you don’t pay your rent, they go up for everyone else.  Musk is bad because he made all his money from government funds and now is trying to reduce spending.  What a load of shit.  Musk funded his companies from nothing and gets government contracts because his companies, like SpaceX, do what government can’t seem to get done itself.
