Gaetz withdraw, thank God. So much for Trump being 100% committed to his nomination. I suspect Gaetz got bad vibes from a number of Republican senators. And I also suspect that the full ethics committee report has some bad stuff in it, not the sex stuff but some of the financial items.
I would like to think he is gone from the scene for good, we don’t need his kind of preening egotist who gets nothing done and can’t work with other people. Unfortunately, depending on bad the entire ethics report is, he can go back to Florida and run the special election to fill his seat. And he would probably be re-elected. And he could become a pain in the ass all over again.
But, this frees Trump up from wasting his time on it; it is a good sign that some of his advisors were telling him to ditch this quickly and he followed their advice. Now get a really good nominee who will get right to work on DEI and other issues needs to be put forward. Miyares in Virginia would be good. Hate to use Senators but there are some excellent Senators for the position.
We need an Attorney General who will root out the corruption in the DoJ and FBI. I fear that a more conventional nominee will not be willing and able to do that. I hope my fear proves to be mistaken.
Trump just continues to stumble on key personnel matters, even though he was famous on “The Apprentice” for quickly evaluating and firing people. And he had Howard Lutnick helping him source the best candidates for his administration, but then Lutnick crosses the line and gets in his own trouble by pushing his candidacy for Treasury.
Why so hard to find good advisors?
You can’t blame him this time around he’s looking for loyalists last time around So many appointees were wolves in the grass. I’d be doing the same thing. Seems like they were all vying for a position on a liberally run network show.
He’s the classic victim of cancel culture. Few people on the hill could survive that scrutiny. Especially most of the nasty national socialist dems. I was enjoying that ride. Just sayin’.
