Credit Where Credit Is Due

By November 6, 2024Commentary

I have been very upfront about this.  I didn’t like Donald Trump much, wish he would stop the demeaning and insulting of people, it isn’t Presidential.  He wasn’t my first or even second or third choice to be the Republican nominee.  I thought he had a good chance to lose.  I underestimated how badly the Democrats could screw things up.

But I have more admiration for Trump at this point.  He has endured and weathered incredible abuse.  The media has demonized him relentlessly.  The Bidementia administration used the legal system to try to destroy and imprison him.  The demonization caused literal assassination attempts.  Through it all, he was steadfast in pushing forward in his own way, a different way than I would choose, but his way.  He rallied those who not privileged elites in this country; those whose quality of life has been diminished, those who see the innocence of their children under assault, those who feel their hope for the future slipping away.

He persevered and he won a tremendous victory.  A victory for sanity.  A victory for rationality.  This accomplishment is enormously admirable.  It is a lesson for everyone in how not to give up, to push forward, no matter the obstacles.  So I salute Donald Trump for his victory; for our victory.  Now let’s don’t waste it.

    Agreed! Keep writing truth!

I agree. I also want to note that he campaigned 24/7 and never took a day off, and didn’t seem to let up, ever. I couldn’t do that, could you?

I’m impressed with your fair assessment. Bravo! I think of the Election as hiring an Employee for a job. Who has the better qualifications? Do they have the qualifications and experience to get the job done? DJT does. Harris obviously doesn’t. There is a reason why one of her many nicknames is “Diversity Hire Harris”. This is DEI coming home to roost, thankfully. Let it be on display for all to see. She pushed to get in, got in, and failed. Miserably. And I am grateful DJT stuck it out, fought his way through. He is THE man for the times.

That sounds about right to me. I liked him way less than you did, I certainly did not vote for him, but I’ve seen a few glimmers of normal from him which give me hope that he’ll get something good accomplished.
