I Am Really Tired of the Masking Stuff

By October 21, 2024Commentary2 min read

There are researchers still trying to persuade us that if everyone had just worn 36 masks every minute of every day no one ever would have become infected or died.  That is rank bullshit.  There is absolutely no evidence that mask mandates ultimately kept even one person from being infected.  Despite those mandates and rampant mask-wearing, something approximating 100% of the American population has been infected at least once, and most more than once.  Masks do not and cannot prevent a respiratory virus infection from spreading in the community.  They literally collect virus, which survives very well on mask material, and then can be either inhaled by the wearer or exhaled toward others.

Here is yet another piece of garbage review of the research, published in a third-rate journal, which claims that if everyone wore masks all the time, there would essentially be no infections or deaths.  As the authors should know, if the set of research you are meta-reviewing is rubbish, your meta-review is rubbish.  There is one randomized trial of the benefits of wearing masks in the community to prevent the spread of CV-19 that I am aware of.  It showed no impact.  If you really want to know if masks make any difference, go do some more real-life studies like that one and stop trying to persuade us that your totalitarian mask mandates are an effective method of suppressing spread.  Their conclusion that mask mandates reduced spread is a flat-out lie, I have repeatedly published the data showing this isn’t true in Minnesota and others have done the same for other jurisdictions.  Notably, the authors are all from countries that had very strict masking mandates and lockdowns, and all had massive waves of CV-19 infection.  When will we ever learn, indeed.  (JCM Article)

Literally everyone I know who was an avid mask wearer during the scamdemic got covid… and most more than once.

Interesting discussion I had with one the renowned infectious decease experts last week.

At our 50th High school reunion last week, a discussion with a classmate who became an infections decease expert at a major Southern California Med school. I made the comment that the only long term solution for covid was developing immunity through the general population and that the mitigation protocols could never have accomplished that long term solution (my comment was with the caveat that it was based on pre – vaccine protocols).

His response was that approach of eliminating the mitigation protocols would have resulted in approx 2 million US deaths, instead of the 1 million US deaths. He further stated that most every elderly and obese/diabetic person would have died along with a massive increase in children deaths. Granted, the vaccine did reduce deaths. With that said, the protocols can delay the timing of when a person catches covid, but it doesnt change the fact that a person will catch covid since virtually everyone caught covid. Further and vastly more important, the mitigation protocols can not change a persons risk factors for dying such as poor health, age or any other factor.

His further comment that vastly more children would have died if the mitigation protocols were not in place defies the extreme low levels of childrens risk from covid.

The point of this comment is that experts were often extrapolating conclusions that were not based on any evidence.
