Medical Device and Drug Industry Payments to Physicians

By April 1, 2024Commentary1 min read

You may think your doctor is ordering treatments for you in a neutral manner unbiased by any personal financial considerations.  You would be wrong.  For ten years the medical industry has been required to report payments to physicians.  No matter how they are categorized, these payments are thinly veiled bribes, designed to increase use of a specific drug or medical device.  From 2013 to 2022, $12.1 billion was paid to physicians.  Orthopedic surgeons received the highest amount.  Over half of physicians have received at least one payment from a medical product business, and some receive very large annual amounts.  This phenomenon also partly explains the transgender butchery, as certain medical companies make a lot of money pimping this unscientific, insane garbage.  (JAMA Article)
