Without subsidies, wind and solar power are incredibly expensive. They also are environmentally damaging. But rich people get richer from the subsidies so they keep lobbying for more projects. Unfortunately for these leeches, even subsidies can’t save these uneconomic albatrosses. Another large offshore wind project was just abandoned in New York. Regulators and politicians are anxious about how much they would have to charge consumers for the electricity generated by these projects. What is dangerous, however, is that the gas and coal plants which for decades gave the US cheap and reliable power are being shut down. Blackouts coming. (Wind Power Story)
