Common Sense on Transgenderism

By December 27, 2023Commentary

Whacko progressives are doing a lot of terrible things to our children–using schools as indoctrination labs, turning them against parents, not teaching them the subjects and skills needed to actually succeed in life, but nothing is worse than the gender ideology garbage.  THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO SCIENCE BEHIND ANY OF THIS, IT IS PURE IDEOLOGY.  People have a biological sex and gender that they are born with.  You can behave any way you want to, within legal limits, regardless of your biological sex, but you are that biological sex you were born with.  You want to be delusional about your sex and gender, which are the same thing, be delusional, but acknowledge that is what you are doing and don’t expect the rest of the world to share your delusion.

And to push this garbage on children of any age is inexcusable.  Even many gay people are horrified and against what they see as the corruption of the recognition of homosexual rights by the transgender nuts.  Here is an editorial in the WSJ by a gay physician.  Now I don’t think young children or adolescents should be encouraged to make decisions about their sexual orientation at a young age.  They are honestly easily confused and easily misled and the best thing to do for them is to tell them to wait until they are somewhat mature before making decisons of that magnitude.  So I don’t know if most children who are encouraged to believe they are transgender are in fact gay, as the writer suggests, but I definitely agree that no child of any age, or even young adults should be permitted to take the radical step of trying to change their physiology.  There is immense physical and psychological harm in doing so.  And in the interest of making money, many supposed medical personnel, who clearly don’t believe in the “do no harm” ethos, are pushing gender disaffirming treatment on befuddled children and their parents.   As the writers of the editorial note, transgender therapies are based on a stereotyped view of male and female characteristics and these treatments, which are irreversible, ruin many a young life.   (WSJ OpEd)

The good news, as I have been suggesting for years, is that malpractice is catching up with the charlatans who practice this gender-disaffirming care.  Malpractice, and more importantly, the cost of malpractice insurance, will ultimately drive this bullshit out of the market.  What is the cost of ruining a child’s sexual life–tens of millions of dollars, hundreds of millions?  The verdicts should be mammoth.  So here is a story about how despicable physicians in southern Illinois can’t get malpractice insurance at a reasonable price to cover their offering of gender disaffirming care to children from Iowa, where kids are protected from this life-destroying therapy.  We need more of this much more, and since the physicians are marketing to kids in Iowa, they should be sued in Iowa, where the standard of care is clearly to protect children.  Much more of this, please.   (ZH Post)

In Pennsylvania we have various state taxpayer funded health programs for under 18 years CHIP being one of them. Per a report from the PA Family Council: “Nearly $14,000 per day in taxpayer dollars spent in 2022 on “sex reassignment” and transition-related services through state health insurance programs for children”.
“The Pennsylvania Family Institute filed a Right-To-Know request with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services which reveals that, from January 1, 2015 to July 28, 2023, more than $19.8 million in tax dollars have been spent on puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, and gender-related surgeries for children 18 years old and younger. To date, estimates would put the total well over $20 million in taxpayer funding.”

I am sure a lot of funding spent is in thanks to Rachel Leland Levine, former PA Secretary of Health.
    History of Levine
“Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine. Her previous posts included: Vice-Chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics, and Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine and Eating Disorders at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.”
A long association with Hershey Medical Center and Penn State.

I mentioned the history of Levine to point out the rot in our institutions and the long hard road to fix it.
