Racism and Segregation

By December 15, 2023Commentary

The whacko progressives who control our education system and set much of our public policy are blatant racists and endorse segregation.  As usual with this woefully misnamed movement, this is not progress, it is regression, it is disunity, it is a recipe for ongoing strife among groups divided by surface characteristics–skin color, sex, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation.  And as is always the case when you base your policies on these characteristics, there are some who are favored and some who are overtly discriminated against.  And as always with these lunatics, success by any group is viewed as the result of those surface characteristics, not behavior, and therefore success must be punished.

There is a line of research exploring how various racial and other groups feel about others in different groups.  This research is largely hidden because it tends to reveal that African Americans hold the highest rates of racial and other stereotyping, a trend that is exacerbated by the last few years of false claims about systemic racism.  No group has had more public money directed toward it or more special programs to help raise opportunity and achievement.  This set of surveys, which may have been discontinued is very revealing.  (ANES Surveys)

The surveys were performed over an extended period by a group called American National Election Studies. It is the work of several prominent universities so assume some bias.  Go to the section under the link called Group Attitudes.  As you will see as you explore the graphs under that tab, over recent decades the perceptions of white people have declined while that of other races has generally risen.  This trend is noted even among whites, reflecting the massive indoctrination in schools about “white supremacy” and whiteness.  The trend is strongest among young people, who have been most exposed to the brainwashing.

Among every group but African-Americans there is a modestly increasing perception of discrimination against white people.  Meanwhile perceptions of discrimination against African-Americans have soared, again at a time when if anything there has been a large amount of positive discrimination in favor of that group.  In fact, perceptions of discrimination have increased for every group, which is sort of contradictory on its face.  Of course in the progressive orthodoxy this is all because of white people.  The intense pushing of identity politics and the use of those irrelevant surface characteristics mentioned above has made everyone hypersensitive to perceived mis-treatment based on those characteristics.

The majority of African-Americans now believe that “conditions”, whatever that means, make it hard for them to succeed.  All racial groups increased their concordance with this belief.  The brainwashing and indoctrination is working, but how does it help any group to think that the deck is stacked against them, that they can’t succeed?  And rapidly increasing numbers think African-Americans should get special favors to help them succeed.  Don’t worry, they are, to the public detriment, as less qualified persons get admitted to universities and are awarded degrees in various professions.

I don’t know what it will take for people to understand that “identity” politics is killing us as a country, sowing extensive division, suspicion and outright discrimination.  It feeds “spoils” politics, in which supposed oppressed or victimized groups get disporportionate public benefits.  It has spurred violence, as we see in multiple attacks on Asians by Black people, or the recent violence against Jews and to a lesser extent Muslims.  It is surreptitiously encouraged on social media and elsewhere by our friends in China and Russia and elsewhere.  The trend is getting worse.

For a very long time, I have believed the solution is obvious.  People have to be judged as individuals based on their behavior.  Everyone should be subject to the same behavior rules and judged by the same process.  If a person appears to be “disadvantaged” in some way, for example, being raised in poverty, I have no problem with making sure that person gets extra assistance to ensure success in life.  What we are doing now is encouraging some groups to think they can behave in whatever manner they choose without consequences and/or that they will be given a free ride in life.  That doesn’t help the groups or our society.
