Some years it is harder than others to get in a relaxed, convivial holiday spirit. This is one of those years. The world and our country are in serious disarray and seem to keep digging the hole deeper instead of finding a way out. So that may mean it is a year to try even harder to ignore the big picture and find the important things to give us a sense of calm, peace and happiness.
I am very grateful for the readers, commenters, even the occasional adversary. I always appreciate the dialogue. I hope you all do have family and friends that you share this journey with and who help you through the inevitable trying times. Nothing means more than finding commonness–a sense of sharing this often frightening and sorrowful life with others. So please, have empathy for others and look for those who will have empathy toward you. And have a good Thanksgiving holiday.
