Coronamonomania Lives Forever, Part 72, Non-Moronic Version

By December 22, 2021Commentary

A lot of other research to cover today as well.  But first, my new mantra again–JUST STOP TESTING!!

Okay, got that out of my system.  Another vaccine effectiveness study from the VA.  Confirms the usual, vaccines less effective in the elderly and people with lots of other diseases.  Effectiveness against mortality better than against infection, and persists for a longer period.  (Annals Article)

I know this is true in Minnesota as well and sooner or later I will get the data, but in Michigan at this point, there appear to be no more cases in schools mandating masks than in those that don’t.  A slight difference earlier likely due to low transmission generally and other confounding factors.   (Michigan Data)

With all the talk of lessening circulating antibodies to CV-19 in the months following infection or vaccination, people may be unaware or lose sight of the fact that your memory B cell response is more important and this research indicates that the memory B cells remain in place and effective even when circulating antibody levels drop.  (Cell Paper)

According to this study, persons with a prior infection who are vaccinated have a strong response after one dose and tend to have a stronger response following vaccination for some time, although both groups showed good ability to neutralize CV-19 for up to 8 months.  (Cell Paper)

Evaluating the most effective spacing of vaccine doses would seem to be a fertile research area.  This paper suggests that a 16 week spacing may produce a different and perhaps stronger response that the typical 3 to 4 week spacing.  (Medrxiv Paper)

Now accepted as a truism is that children are less likely to have serious disease compared to adults, especially older adults.  This paper finds that young children in particular had far more vigorous responses to CV-19, which likely led to more rapid clearing of the virus.  (Medrxiv Paper)

Kind of an interesting paper on the dynamics of the introduction of Delta to the UK and the US.  These modelers acknowledge the role of variation in population immunity levels and behavior patterns.  (Medrxiv Paper)

For those wondering about the origin of CV-19, there are lots of coronavirus floating around out there infecting animals, and many cross to humans.  This study found a number of pre-epidemic samples from cats and deer that showed an antibody reaction to CV-19.  Hmmm.  (Medrxiv Paper)

Kevin – you linked to the study concerning the number of corona viruses that jump from animals to humans

during the early months of covid, there was an assault on anyone who suggested in came from the wuhan lab (whether accidential or on purpose) just because some republicans suggested it might have.

Any thoughts on what you think was the likely source – or at this point who cares where it came from because we cant do anything about it and because it has no effect on how to reach to long term goal of high level of immunity in the general population.

    thanks for your thoughts

I don’t know and we know the Chinese won’t be forthcoming. I am tending to lean toward the lab escape theory, but there are lots of coronaviruses circulating out there.

One good use of testing is to determine if treatment is needed. I am vaccinated, but 66 and overweight, so if I get sick I will sure want to get tested quick to find out if I should seek treatment. Of course, to push testing while ignoring treatment is … well, I don’t like using obscenities.

    • Kevin Roche says:

that is a good point, as frustrated as I get with testing, if you are symptomatic, you should test

Thanks for all the work you and Dave Dixon have done to rationalize the data. Also, thank you for publicly mentioning “stop testing”. It has renewed my faith that others understand how we can collectively end the plandemic instantly.

Data from Denmark’s SSI compiled Omicron data is showing fully vaccinated being more likely to test positive than unvaccinated even when adjusted for population/vaccination rates . Their current data for vaccinated vs unvaccinated Delta seems to match the rest of the world. Delta compared with Omicron for the same time period leads me to dismiss other possible confounding factors that could alter the data. As a vaccinated person, this could be the first breakthrough trend that potentially ruffles my feathers and could give pause for thought on further boosters. Maybe the FDA should stop bypassing advisory councils and allow professional debate BEFORE expanding booster recommendations.

At this point, all known genetic sequences of corona viruses are cataloged. We’ve been studying them for decades, at multiple levels of government and private industry. Either C19 matches a cataloged version, or it doesn’t. This isn’t a subjective topic. You can’t call it a novel virus, then start linking it to animal strains 2 years later. There’s going to be orchestrated cover ups for decades, or as long as Fauci, Gates, etc. are allowed to walk the earth as free men.

It’s also my understanding that the 2 big players in the monoclonal antibody business are discontinuing their production because they were designed for Alpha, just as the [vaccines] were. With all of the existing data about the [vaccinated] leading in the new infections category from Omicron, why on earth would governments around the world keep forcing unapproved (liability free) [vaccine] mandates on the citizenry using a product that’s now 2 or more generations removed from the Omicron strain … especially with a new oral medication now available?

No one with half a brain thinks forced [vaccinations] have anything to do with public health. There in lies the root cause of ‘hesitancy’. I remain stunned every day at the general public’s dismal understanding of current events, global data and basic biology. It’s reaching the point where smart people are being silenced so they don’t offend the imbesiles.

Speaking of Denmark and Omicron, here’s a preprint from Denmark about vaccine efficacy against the Omicron Persei 8 variant. Interesting stuff. Hoping for a write up on Tue blog!
