How Much Have Event Trends Changed During the Epidemic?

By September 16, 2021Commentary

Mr. Dixon and I thought it might be interesting to take a look at the proportionate rates, by age group, for cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, as they are calculated first for each quarter of the epidemic, and secondly, cumulatively as of the end of each quarter.  Now remember, these are not per capita rates, the younger age groups have much higher populations in them then do the older ones.  So keep that in mind when you look just at percent of cases by age group.  The charts give you a sense of whether there are differing trends among age groups for any of these events over time, and their were.  Particularly noticeable in the quarter by quarter charts is that in the spring and summer of 2021, the proportion of deaths among the elderly dropped pretty significantly.  Hospitalizations across groups flattened somewhat as well.  I know a lot of you may not want to believe it, but that is the effect of vaccines, which especially in the spring, were almost exclusively used in the elderly.  The cumulative charts, as calculated each quarter for everything through that quarter, show a little less movement.   Animations coming for those who like to see this in motion.

Would make more sense to use bar charts than line graphs for that data.

When someone dies are they removed from the data (other than cumulative data)?

It appears the number of cases per age group doesn’t seem to change that much, notably the elderly.

I, personally, have not questioned that the vaccines have some kind of temporary effect, a spectrum of temporary effects that weakens over time.

Here are some questions I do ask, which get more urgent with each passing day:

    – Does this temporary effect stick? (It seems that it doesn’t.)
    – Whether the short-term side effect risks outweigh the benefits for population cohorts that have obvious significant well-documented side effect risks and basically zero risk from COVID?
    – Whether there exist treatments and therapies which can reduce COVID risks more than the short-term effect of the vaccines, and which have staying power because their effectiveness doesn’t wane over time, but which we are being denied by people hell-bent on forcing everyone to submit to injections?
    – Whether the long-term effects, which are unknown, outweigh the short-term benefits, especially among population cohorts with very low risk from COVID?
    – Whether the vaccines are themselves causing mutations that are prolonging this episode of government tyranny disguised as a pandemic?
    – Whether the governments of allegedly free countries (and their massive corporations) are morally justified in forcing everyone to take the injections, and fomenting fear and anger against those who have chosen not to take them?

Agreeing with Rob, a more standard bar-style histogram would be a bit more readable.

Clearly. I think that this is NOW, obvious. Did this knowledge (after MILLIONS and millions of Americans were told to believe that the vaccine is the “way out” the ultimate “end” and the big game changer) encourage every person (regardless of risk profile) to vaccinate under dubious recommendations for natural infection from idiots and morons in Public Health? The only answer is yes. The vaccine’s don’t imbue sterilizing immunity. However, if our PH officials all the way up to the top, hadn’t been LYING from the start, this would be the incredible win that it truly is!! It is a vaccination win no matter how you slice it. Most everyone who wanted it, over 65, got the jab and is safer because of it no matter the long term data or the side effects outside of death, the tremendous division among Americans, notwithstanding. Covid19 is a terrible disease to CHANCE having, if you’re older. It’s just the fact. BUT, if someone is now suspicious of Government, Medical establishments and public health officials…not ONE person should wonder why.

The Scientists from the Great Barrington Declaration have proven to be true, time and time again. The problem with their advice was presentation. They aren’t public speakers and they stumble over their recommendations constantly.

Science died on the hill of politics during this pandemic effectively creating polarization and killing scientific debate. Unless Scientists themselves stop feuding…we’ll see this nonsense again.
