Thanks to Covid_Clarity for this one from Twitter. Here you see plotted the per capita testing and per capita deaths for every state. That scatterplot tells you the whole story. How much you test has nothing to do with how many deaths you end up with. One of the biggest myths is that if we only tested more we would have gotten this under control. Just nonsense that overwhelmed contact tracing efforts and resulted in lots of false and low positives.
