What the Headlines Should Say

Warning, this post is all rant, all the time.   Our Governor, the Incompetent Blowhard, or maybe the B stands for Buffoon, is trying to take credit for the fact that the case wave subsided in the same pattern we always see.  In the editorial I wrote that was published in the Star Tribune about how the case surge had already peaked and turned when he issued his stupid and irrational orders, I predicted he would try to take credit.  Don’t let him.  But that pathetic attempt on his part to vindicate ongoing actions that are destructive of the public health and well-being has me pretty worked up.

Since the spring, when it was apparent from the laughable model that he paid for and relied upon to rationalize closing schools and businesses, shutting down health care availability and telling people to stay home, orders that were completely unnecessary, every response this bumbling moron has initiated has been designed to make it look like things are bad, really bad, so the “virus” just made him take all these actions that have ruined people’s lives.

He has engaged in an intentional campaign to frighten, nay, terrorize, the citizens of Minnesota.  He has lied, hidden relevant information, made up data and “science” and refused to consider the views of other political leaders or to listen to any but a few so-called experts who tell him only what he wants to hear.  His actions have been incompetent, to put it charitably.  The absurdly bad model, which I and others warned about, was just the start.  We had orders issued with absolutely no analysis of the economic, health or other consequences.  This was proven by his release of absolutely no studies done before those orders in response  to a Data Practices Act request.

The handling of the known risk to residents in congregate care settings has been one of the worst in the country, with Minnesota consistently having one of the highest proportions of all deaths occurring in that setting.  Contact tracing and testing strategies and execution have been abysmal.  The state cannot identify transmission in the vast majority of cases, partly because a refusal to use a rational approach to determining when a person is truly infectious has overwhelmed contact tracers with false and low positives.  The mask delusion continues unabated when it is now completely apparent that masks make absolutely no difference to spread in the community.

And now, when it was repeatedly predicted, including by the Idiot Buffoon himself, that we would see a case surge in the fall and early winter, his administration apparently was completely unprepared to deal with what they told us was an overwhelming number of hospitalizations (but actually isn’t).  Along the way he has cravenly caved in to the teachers’ unions and kept children, especially low-income and minority children from a decent education.  It is hard to imagine a more cowardly, despicable human being.

He is supposed to be serving the best interest of all Minnesotans.  He is in fact obsessed with only one thing–having as few CV-19 cases and deaths as possible, regardless of the consequences to everyone else.  The media gives him a pass, in fact facilitates his coronamonomania and terror campaign.  Here is what the headlines should say:

WALZ KILLS HUNDREDS, EVENTUALLY THOUSANDS, OF YOUNGER MINNESOTANS TO SAVE A FEW MONTHS OF LIFE FOR A SMALL NUMBER OF FRAIL ELDERLY

WALZ DESTROYS THE LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MINNESOTA’S CHILDREN OUT OF FEAR FOR A FEW CORONAVIRUS CASES

WALZ TERRORIZES POPULATION WITH GROTESQUELY EXAGGERATED STATEMENTS OF VIRUS RISK

WALZ DEMOLISHES THE DREAMS OF THOUSANDS OF SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

WALZ’ ORDERS DISPROPORTIONATELY IMPACT LOW-INCOME AND MINORITY PERSONS; BUT HE DOESN’T CARE

WALZ MAKES UP SUPPOSED DATA TO JUSTIFY CLOSING CERTAIN BUSINESSES

In a just world, this man would be held to account for the horrific consequences of his actions and run out of the state, but as far as I can tell, there is no justice in this world.
