Updated National Date of Death Chart

By July 20, 2020Commentary1 min read

Here is an updated version of that great chart, from Kyle Lamb, showing deaths by date of death, and showing when they were reported and added, by week.  You will note the ongoing extensive lag between when the deaths are added and the weeks they actually belong to.  You can also begin to see some increase in recent deaths, due to the rapid growth in cases in some states.  While hospitalization and death rates are going to be much lower for this round of cases, we will still see some increase in deaths for the last few weeks and the next couple of weeks, which won’t be fully apparent until the CDC lag in reporting passes in a month or so.
