It gets old pointing out the obvious fact that shutting down the economy causes real harms to people. harms that collectively are far worse than the disease and deaths resulting from coronavirus. And it isn’t just job loss and financial harms. Already we have reports of increases in suicides. And now the evidence that abuse is up as well. (Domestic Abuse Reports) There is a more targeted set of mitigation measures that would do less harm.
