Just in Case You Don’t Think We Are Completely Destroying the Economy and Jobs

By April 9, 2020Commentary1 min read

Here are a few numbers.   Unemployment claims filed in just the last three weeks, over 17 million.  Actual number of likely job losses, over 20 million.   (ZH Post)   The percent of mortgages on which payments are not being made rose by over 1000%.  (ZH Post)   The number of people not paying their rent on time increased to a third of all rental properties.  (ZH Post)    Estimated drop in GDP, 25%.

Now tell me again a) that we aren’t committing economic suicide;   and b) that we shouldn’t balance this immense damage against the actual harm from coronavirus disease?
