More Real Climate Science

By April 24, 2024Commentary

A few brave souls in the United States continue to try to do real climate-related research, not driven by the whacked hysteric community.  But more good research is done overseas.  A group of Polish scientists have been working on whether or not it is actually the case that increasing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere creates warming in a linear fashion.  The hysterics routinely treat each unit of additional CO2 in the atmosphere as creating a unit of warming.  The underlying mechanism is supposedly that CO2 prevents warmth from escaping to space.  But for a long time scientists have questioned whether the relationship was actually linear and whether there wasn’t a point at which the atmosphere had so much CO2 that it created no further warmth–a saturation point.

This group of Polish scientists has published several papers demonstrating that in fact there is a saturation point and we have reached it, so further CO2 has no impact on warming.  One of them is found here.  This particular article is an excellent explanation of the theory of CO2-caused warming and of research suggesting that the mainstream hysteric view is wrong.  The article is fairly readable, although technical.  I find it pretty convincing and I believe this line of research is critical to developing a rational climate and energy policy.  But every effort will be made by the hysterics to suppress this research or ignore its findings.  (AES Article)

From the 2nd paragraph of the Introduction section of the paper : “For example, studies Madden and Ramanathan (1980) demonstrate the possibility of climate warming delays compared to the projections based on mathematical models, caused, among other factors, by the thermal inertia of the oceans.”

That statement leads to a very good question. From circa 1870 through the late 1930’s, solar activity was on a general rise based on increases in TSI. (The increase in temps had large spikes in warming especially in north america as measured by the US instrumental record)

Coupled with the delaying effects of PDO and AMO which are generally on 60-70 year cycles, it raises the question as to how much of the warming today is due to the solar activity from the early 20th century. That question is completely dismissed by the activists,
