The Anti-Strib, February 2026 Catch-up, Part 2

By March 5, 2026Commentary4 min read

Here we go with the continuation of this tedious task, but thankfully, due to snowstorms I guess, the February 17 and February 19 papers were not delivered to my house and I am not going to go looking for them.  But I could tell you the content.  February 18, the usual ICE-bashing stories.  The Strib won’t report it, but the Center for the American Experiment did a poll that found most Minnesotans want criminal illegal immigrants removed and most blame Walz and Frey for the problems in enforcement.

February 20, Epstein fallout, the Strib stories, mostly picked up from other sources, express dismay that Trump hasn’t been implicated in wrongdoing, in fact may have played a role in getting Epstein investigated and charged.  Local ideological federal judges are doing their best to prevent enforcement of the immigration laws, only to be slapped down by appeals courts repeatedly.  St. Paul bans law enforcement wearing masks, which is designed to facilitate they’re being attacked at home and in public.  And of course it can’t apply to federal law enforcement personnel.

February 21.  Some of the tariffs imposed by Trump are illegal, so let’s celebrate that.  Minnesota can’t achieve its absurd climate goals–stopping CO2 emissions, but the Strib fails to note we have accomplished some of the fastest rising electricity bills in the country.  Trump continues to poison us all by weakening environmental protections; actually he is eliminating rules that had no evidentiary basis.  The City of Minneapolis is an economic disaster zone, in fact it is a disaster zone in every way, but it didn’t commit complete suicide by denying hotels liquor licenses for housing ICE agents.

February 22.  Business CEOs are hesitant to speak out on ICE enforcement.  Why should they speak out?  The Strib thinks everyone has to take an ideological pledge or be pilloried.  Tim Walz wants the current state legislative session to focus on gun control, while fraudsters still billions and likely recycle a lot of it to his party.

February 23.  Restaurants in Minneapolis and Minnesota are struggling.  It is blamed on illegal immigration enforcement, which if true is the fault of Frey and Walz for encouraging violent resistance and out-of-state agitators.  But this has been going for longer than the recent “surge” and is due to the rotten economic climate in the state and to the complete lack of adequate law enforcement in Minneapolis.  The editorial page suggest Minnesota should get a Nobel peace prize–for violently interfering with legitimate law enforcement, spitting on officers, calling them the N word, and protecting criminals.  Sounds about right for the official paper of the DFL.

February 24.  The paper claims Trump is struggling against affordability concerns, but compare now with Bidementia times.  A story about another huge government program waste in Minnesota–a train line to nowhere and now everyone is trying to figure out what to do with the land.  Wait til they hear about the light rail lines.  The person appointed to tackle fraud in Minnesota says the state has totally failed to try to identify and stop fraud.  Almost like the DFL wanted it to happen, which they did since they got a cut.

February 25.   More ICE jibberish, but it is lessening.  Walz’ attempt to shift the focus to gun control is DOA.  The US men’s hockey team is politicized by Trump, no it isn’t, it is politicized by the whacked Dems who think of nothing other than how to get Trump.
