So I was gone for a while and when I get back, as usual, I have the very unpleasant task of catching up on the lunatic ravings of the Strib. As you might imagine, the big picture is an attempt to keep the whole crackdown on criminal illegal immigrants front and center and pretend that Minnesota has been so victimized. It is pretty hilarious and they attempt to put this nonsense in every section–including entertainment, sports, anywhere they can, as long as they don’t have to talk about the state’s woeful economy and massive fraud problem. They run stories talking about how enforcement hurts businesses, children, even pets. But somehow not one story on the crimes committed by these illegal immigrants, the drug trafficking, the sex trafficking, rapes, murders, assaults; somehow all of that eludes the Strib. But then this isn’t a real newspaper, it is an overt arm of the whacked DFL in the state.
On February 10, the Strib continued its freak-out over the alleged impact of the illegal immigrant crackdown on Minnesota’s economy. You would think the whole economy of the state was dependent on illegal immigrants, and Dems have run it down so badly that maybe it was. The headlines are hilarious, including one suggesting that maybe the public schools would collapse without the funding tied to illegal immigrant children. It is simply absurd.
February 11, as usual continued garbage stories on how bad ICE is and how wonderful those resisting enforcement of the law are. Meanwhile the city of Minneapolis in particular has been exposed as a complete hellhole, incredibly expensive government and no services, including no effective policing. As usual the bullshit infects every section of the paper, including Variety and Sports. Supposedly legitimate social services providers are suffering from the fraud fallout. When you let fraud go unchecked, this is what happens. Trump is undermining the whole climate change fraud, hard for me to see where the problem is, but the Strib is freaking.
February 12, all “bad ICE, bad, bad ICE” all the time.
February 13, all “bad ICE, bad, bad ICE” all the time. Trump is going to poison us all by rolling back the completely evidence-free “greenhouse gas is a pollutant” finding. The state of Minnesota facilitated and encouraged, then hid the consequences of, mammoth fraud against welfare programs. Now it hilariously is creating a “fact check” website to try to minimize how much was stolen. The Strib runs story after story about how much damage was inflicted on Minnesota from legitimate enforcement of the immigration laws, never mentioning that all this “damage” would have been avoided if the state had cooperated.
February 14. Valentine’s day, and I don’t love the Strib. The Strib claims that local sheriffs are still basically not cooperating with federal immigration enforcement. If true that is disgraceful; but consistent with the DFL, better to keep criminal illegal aliens here so they can vote than to lose power. The Strib has taken to regularly publishing stories about how Minnesota stood firm against tyranny and oppression, which is the worst bullshit; the state is protecting criminals, literally protecting criminals.
February 15. More of the same, as you can imagine; the Strib has zero interest in actual journalism or contesting the narrative coming out of the DFL. Finally, a story that suggests maybe Minnesota didn’t do even the most basic things to protect against fraud in government programs. The Strib’s op-ed pages are a monochrome of ideological gibberish. One column today wondered why so many Hispanics joined ICE. Maybe because their communities bear the brunt of white suburban liberals allowing unlimited numbers of criminal illegal aliens into the country.
February 16. Gosh, ICE is still working, even after the “heroic” effort Minnesotans and their out-of-state agitators and funders made to protect criminals. Farmers are worried about access to workers if illegal immigration stops. If the disruption to the labor market stops, yep, farmers may have to pay more to get workers instead of getting away with exploiting illegals. Just a variation of the whacked leftist argument about “who will wipe my old ass” if there aren’t illegals. The Minneapolis public schools educate no student, overpay staff and teachers for this pathetic outcome, and can’t figure out why they have constant budget problems.
Meanwhile, I get almost daily emails from the Strib begging for donations to preserve its ability to provide ideological content. No thanks.
