According to the climate hysterics we are in a period of unprecedented warming caused by human emissions of CO2. Both parts of that are lies. The rationale for the lies is to both give ideological climate “scientists” power over humanity and to enrich wealthy people from building and operating “renewable” energy. All we have really done is wreak havoc on the economy and consumers (although at least we haven’t been as stupid as Germany and other European countries) and make China lots of money, since it sells most of the renewable energy equipment. Meanwhile China and India use coal and other fossil fuels as much as they can.
Study after study has demonstrated that the earth not only has been significantly warmer in the past, including the fairly recent past, but that warming has often occurred very quickly. Here is another one which looked at climate events referred to Dansgaard-Oeschger warming. They occurred over Greenland and demonstrated 10 to 16 degrees Centigrade of warming in about 50 to 200 years. A number of these events occurred from 29,000 to 71,000 years ago. Don’t believe humans were burning much fossil fuel back then. While the trigger appears to be what is happening in Greenland, there is a global impact on climate, likely due to the obvious ice melt that occurs.
The study was based on accumulated studies from around the globe using pollen. Variation in pollen type and amount has been correlated to temperature, although not clear how accurate or precisely it measures temperature. And there is a high amount of data massaging and statistical manipulation that causes curiosity about the accuracy of the results. You would assume that it is directionally correct, particularly with such wide swings in such a short time. It appears that the temperature gain was greatest in the cold months, reducing the temperature spread from cold to warm seasons. While the northern hemisphere warmed, the southern hemisphere may have cooled during these events.
Despite the obvious lesson that what is occurring now, which is actually very minor warming, if any, compared to what was experienced during these events, could most likely be natural in origin; the authors of course have to say it helps us understand what might happen in the future if humans keep affecting the climate. I don’t doubt that human activities might influence weather and climate, but there is nothing that suggests to me that there is “runaway” warming. (CP Article)
