The NYTimes Agrees that Marijuana Is Dangerous and Needs Regulation

By February 12, 2026Commentary1 min read

Readers know that I have toiled to bring attention to the dangers of marijuana, particularly to teens and young adults.  An astounding percent of Americans apparently use this dangerous drug regularly.  It makes you stupid, causes depression, anxiety and schizophrenia and multiple physical health issues.  As the Times points out, the health benefits promised are actually non-existent, according to multiple studies.  Money, in the form of campaign contributions and likely bribes, is behind the legalization push.  The marijuana industry doesn’t give a damn about it’s users, as long as they stay alive and keep buying.  The Times points out all these dangers and says it is obviously time for re-regulation.  Unfortunately, the Times was one of the cheerleaders for legalization ten years ago.  At least it has admitted its mistake. Now, how about making it illegal again and cracking down on illegal trafficking.   (NYT Editorial)
