A new approach on my catchup on this miserable Minnesota version of Pravda. Pravda, if you don’t know or recall, was the Soviet paper which spread the official Communist party version of events and aided indoctrination in the governing ideology. The Strib serves the same function for the ultra-left, radical whacked DFL party in Minnesota. It is the opposite of journalism, it is blinkered advocacy on behalf of the lunatics running Minnesota and Minneapolis. And it is justifiably going down the tubes as fast as it can, literally begging for donations to keep it on life support.
So we will start on January 23, where we will see the usual focus on the effort to detain illegal immigrants, usually criminals (they are all criminals anyway, having broken the law to enter the country), in Minneapolis and elsewhere. Minnesota took the unusual step of openly encouraging violent resistance to this effort because the DFL needs illegal immigrants to help with its vote fraud and with recycling stolen money from government programs to the party and its politicians. But if you read the Strib all you will see are sob stories about how some people are being victimized and that ICE is brutal and that the “resisters”, i.e. the violent anarchists, are heroes. And so it is in this edition. We read that ICE is detaining children and citizens, but not about the hundreds of criminals. Trump derangement syndrome is in full view, as Jack Smith’s illegal political investigation of Trump is minimized. The US murder rate is down to the lowest in decades, but no credit to Trump for that.
January 24. More on ICE detaining children. No evidence that ICE is arresting criminals. Minnesota knows, it has the data on who is in the jails or who is sought for crimes. If the Strib really wants to tell the public the truth, it would insist that Minnesota release that data, as Tennessee does every year.
January 25. Alex Pretti is killed; he is a saint, but he isn’t and you will never read that in the Strib. He assaulted agents, spit on them, swore at them, kicked and damaged a car, obviously just a peaceful kind of guy. Nope, a typical ultra-radical anarchist–angry at his core about his unhappy and unfulfilled life and taking it out in political violence.
January 26. Walz and Frey advocating more violence against ICE. Refusing to cooperate and to adequately police the violent mobs, which would end the issues.
January 27. The Strib amid all its ICE-bashing, inadvertently prints a story that violent crime is way down in Minneapolis since the streets were flooded with immigration enforcement officers. Wow, who knew, having a lot of police on the streets and getting rid of illegal immigrants makes crime go down. A story about DOJ seeking Minnesota voter rolls but a complete lack of curiousity about exactly what the state has to hide by not turning them over.
January 28. Rogue federal judges appointed by Biden and Obama are trying to rein ICE in in Minnesota. Their orders are routinely overturned, but the Strib doesn’t tell the public that. You will search in vain also for any story about who is really behind the organization and funding of the resistance, even though that information is now becoming widely available through infiltration of the groups. It isn’t some spontaneous, organic protest, it is a violent resistance.
January 29. More immigration terrorism as usual. Fraud in getting a backseat, but no explanation that this was the intended outcome for Walz and Frey as they promoted violent resistance to enforcement of the immigration laws. Minnesota supposedly had positive immigration in the first half of 2025, failing to note that since 2020 the state has a big out-migration. I don’t believe the 2025 numbers are accurate but if they are it is due to people being attracted to the easy government program fraud and whacked policies. Just the people we need in the state.
January 30. Amy Kloubuchar, as worthless a Senator as there has ever been and the meanest person to her staff in the entire Congress, is running for Governor since incompetent and crooked Timmy Walz had to step down. The STrib finally notes Alex Pettri’s violent encounter with ICE days before he was shot, but minimizes his conduct and blames the agents. You can’t make up this degree of bullshit.
January 31. A federal judge refused to stop ICE’s action in Minnesota. This Biden judge even noted, although the Strib doesn’t, that there were so many ICE personnel in Minnesota because the state refused to cooperate and encouraged resistance. The paper actually also publishes a story noting that the frauds in Minnesota were warned about by employees who were then retaliated against or ignored. More Trump derangement syndrome inside.
February 1. An attempt to minimize fraud in Minnesota by saying it happens in other states too. Unbelievable. The usual ICE terrorism. Some Epstein coverage, failing to note that it is mostly Dems who were involved. An inadvertent recognition that many, if not most, of the “resistors” are from out-of-state in a story about two Chicago men who are following ICE around. Not curiousity expressed in the story about who is funding this.
February 2. Courts are impeding ICE, no mention that all their garbage orders are overturned by appeals courts. The Minneapolis airport has a traffic decline; I can personally testify to how dead it is there, but no business group and no tourist would ever have any reason to come to the state.
February 3. People are self-deporting from Minnesota. A good thing, especially the criminals and fraudsters. The Supreme Court is trying to protect the secrecy around its rulings, which is necessary because a lot of money is often at stake. But somehow the story makes this seem bad, although as usual the story is from the NYTimes. The Strib does little original reporting. A Minnesota restaurant has to close because the owner told the truth about Somali gang violence.
February 4. More federal prosecutors in Minnesota resign. Most were Dems, but this is an issue in prosecuting the widespread, omnipresent fraud in the state. The usual ICE terrorism.
February 5. Some ICE agents are leaving the state, as it appears that at least some officials are cooperating in turning over criminals. The Strib still refuses to acknowledge that the state and local governments are releasing illegal immigrant criminals rather than turning them over. The paper gives belated recognition to the absolute horror of child mutilation in so-called gender care, care which the paper strongly supported and advocated for. But of course the paper expresses sympathy for the parents of “trans kids”. There are no trans kids, no child can or would make this decision, there are only children who have been abused by parents, school staff, medical personnel and others.
February 6. The lawfare against ICE detainment is overwhelming courts, but the Strib fails to note it is also improper and appeals courts are putting an end to it and fortunately, the administration is ignoring the court orders and retaining arrested detainees. Hennepin County is continuing to protect these criminals and refusing to cooperate. Minnesota is continuing to hide DFL voter fraud by refusing to turn over the voter rolls.
February 7. The city of Minneapolis, which is broke and raising property taxes by double digits is giving one million dollars in rent aid to illegal immigrants. You can’t make this stuff up. The paper says, gee, some “resistance” may actually be obstruction. All resistance is obstruction. The paper carries on about the detainment of two illegal immigrants at a courthouse, you don’t learn til the end of the paper that they are charged with sexual assault of a minor. And they undoubtedly would be let go by the whacked Hennepin County prosecutor and sheriff.
February 8. More insipid coverage of the immigration mess caused by Minnesota politicians. The Strib never misses a chance to lionize illegal immigrants and demonize ICE. Meanwhile the state is going down the tubes. I want to call out a business columnist for writing yet another dumb column complaining about Minnesota’s economy being ruined while ignoring the real cause and how long this has been going on.
February 9. No change today, except that the Strib actually prints a fairly fulsome story on the level of autism fraud in the state. Of course it had little choice because an outside audit ordered by the state showed that as much as 90% of claims were likely fraudulent, a billion dollars worth. The paper’s foreign policy coverage is particularly reprehensible in never giving Trump credit for what he has accomplished and finding some way to demonize him. Cuba is one of the worst examples of a communist totalitarian hellhole, but the paper in a story on the pressure on its government quotes someone referring to Trump’s “criminal coercion”.
Special mention. The Strib infests every section of the paper with its radical ideology. On Feb. 1 in the regional coverage section it talks about young people taking a stand against ICE. These kids are all indoctrinated in public schools and know nothing. And not a word that while the indoctrination is working great, academic achievement in the basics like math and reading is plummeting. The Business section on January 24 and February 1 follows in this disgrace, whining about the impact of the resistance (it isn’t ICE, since nothing like this happens in other states) on local businesses. Pretty hilariously they feature the impact on a business strip where the Somali fraud was concentrated. Losing those businesses would be very beneficial to the state. And of course the Variety section highlights idiots like Bruce Springsteen and their dumb contribution to the discussion.
And that’s it for a while. I am not exaggerating when I say anyone, including me, who is exposed to this drivel day after day becomes dumber. This is the worst excuse for a newspaper in the country. It can’t die fast enough.
