Religion is not an innate characteristic like sex or skin color or ethnic background. Religion is something people choose, even if they may be born into a family and community with a certain religion. And individuals can choose which religious beliefs they accept or don’t accept. So my rule about trying to avoid stereotyping groups on the basis of innate characteristics doesn’t apply to religion. So I will say again, as we have seen in recent days, the Muslim religion as practiced and accepted by many of its adherents, is not a religion of peace, tolerance, love or anything like that.
It is a horrific religion, which literally believes women are unclean and second-class humans. That thinks homosexuality should be punished by death. That believes anyone who isn’t Muslim or who doesn’t practice Islam the way a certain sect of Muslims thinks they should, is a heathen who can and should be killed. It is a religion that is deeply, deeply anti-semitic. So I don’t want to hear from any politician about what a great religion it is and how accommodating and accepting we should be of Islam and Muslims. I personally do not think we should let a single Muslim into the country–their core beliefs are inconsistent with democracy and our values of individual freedom and tolerance. We have no obligation to be tolerant to a group that practices intolerance as a routine matter of belief.
The slaughter in Australia, anti-semitic acts in New York City, the threats against Christmas markets in Europe, the plot to commit murder and bombings in Los Angeles, the countless attacks on Jews and synagogues; none of that is evidence of a religion that does anything good for humanity. And the failure of our gutless politicians to acknowledge that and to take action against it is even more despicable. Australia should be deeply ashamed of itself, being warned, knowing these actions were occurring and doing nothing to protect its Jewish community. Our universities that allowed Palestinians and other Muslims to assault and insult Jews on campus should be deeply ashamed.
Fortunately we currently have a federal administration that is willing to look truth right in the eye and describe it for what it is and to take action. Not so in many states and cities, including Minnesota, where not only are Muslims permitted to perpetrate huge frauds, but their anti-semitic and other bad behaviors are ignored or even catered to. It is disgusting.
All cultures are not equal. A devout Christian becomes Sister Theresa or Billy Graham. A devout muslim becomes Osama Bin Laden. My elementary study of islam taught me that it started out peaceful but, when everyone told Moo-hamhead to take a hike, he became a warlord and changed his evangelical approach to, “Accept allah or die.”
Hi Sceptic. Glad to hear you call out Islam. I do not view it as a religion at all. Perhaps, an anti-religion, or political ideology. At bottom, the God of Jews and Christians is Logos, whereas allah is pure arbitrary will, or Nietzschen will to power. Bernard Lewis explains this nicely somewhere in a book I read long ago. Not God, but opposition to Him. Lucifer. There are not 3 Abrahamic faiths, but yet 2, and one that is explicitly anti-Abrahamic. How much we have forgotten about ourselves.

Islam is a 7th century religio-socio-political belief system that, in my opinion, functions as little more than an international men’s club. It is almost completely at odds with Western culture and traditions with its belief that women are second-class citizens and must cover themselves lest they lure otherwise “good” Muslim men into sin (one Imam likening uncovered women to raw meat being left out in the open that is too hard for a passing lion to resist; it is not uncommon for men to throw acid in the faces of uncovered women in Islamic countries), photography and statuary are “haram,” dogs are dirty and disgusting creatures, interest is usuary, and that “good” Muslims must bow and scrape the ground five times a day in prayers to Allah and otherwise consult an Imam as to how a “good” Muslim is to do just about everything. It is robotic, with just about every action prescribed by the Koran.
Muslims cannot be trusted to be truthful, because one of Islam’s tenets is “Takiya,” or the practice of lying to the infidel in furtherance of Islam. While not all Muslims may be capable of carrying out acts of violence against infidels or apostates, it is my opinion that far too many of them quietly approve of it and applaud it when it happens.
I am too much of a biological reductionist and agnostic to ignore the fact the Islam allows and even encourages cousin marriage. I think it is quite plausible that centuries of inbreeding have resulted in diminished IQ, fanaticism, and overemotionalism (to say nothing of higher incidences of genetic birth defects), which makes me skeptical that there is much choice in their religious beliefs or ability to reject Islam (reinforced by the fact that apostacy is punishable by death). So, while I don’t fully accept your opening statements, I do agree with your conclusions.
A Muslim acquaintance told me, back in the late 1980s, that there was much celebration and passing out of candy in his native ME country when the Challenger exploded and that Muslim women think American women all have dirty a**holes because bidets are not common here (sorry for the crudity, but that’s exactly what he said, and I think it’s important that Americans hear this sort of thing). He also said he believed that the U.S. would be a Muslim country by 2050. I scoffed at that at the time, but now I fear he was right.

Winston Churchill was wildly denounced during the 1930’s with what was regarded as his inane and delusional rants as European elites were trying to appease Hitler. Once WW2 broke out, it became obvious that Churchill was the only one with the wisdom and common sense to understand where Hitler was planning.
Its the same with western elites trying to appease islam as if we can co-exist with a religion that demands their adherents kill the infidels. Western elites try to use the excuse that christains were once guilty of similar actions ignoring that christanity has long since grown past their past. Of course killing non christians was never in the bible, yet is in the koran. Western elites lack the wisdom that is needed to understand the religion.
