Debunking Climate Hysteria, October 29, 2025

By October 29, 2025Commentary1 min read

It’s been a productive week for those attempting to inject some rationality into the climate discussion.  Another one of the favorite hysterical themes is that we are creating a mass extinction event and that human-caused global warming has already extincted multiple species of plants and animals.  If it is said by hysterics, it is a lie.  That is an iron-clad rule.  This article summarizes a study finding that in reality, which is not inhabited by the hysterics, extinction rates have slowed over the last 500 years.  They also find that there are multiple causes of extinctions of plants and animals and that past extinction events are very poor  predictors of future extinctions.  They specifically found that in the last 200 years, alleged climate change has had no impact on extinction rates.  Please note that most extinctions are very rare, highly niche-occupying species.  Something happens in the few square miles or the unique habitat they occupy, and that’s it.  Happened before humans ever arrived on earth and will keep happening.  (UA Post) (Study)
